formation that is given. We will not be satisfied until we realize
the most valuable result of education-"the ability to make yourself
do the thing you ought to do, when it ought to be done, whether you
like to do it or not."
Many young people, and many parents, make the very serious mistake
of thinking that they will find the best training in the schools
with extra large attendance. This is not necessarily true. Especially
it is not true in reference to younger students. The best work can be
done in small classes, where each student may come in close touch
with the teacher. The conscientious teacher will study the weak and
strong points of the pupil and know just how to lead and assist each
to the greatest development. A very serious mistake for a young boy
or girl is to enter an institution that has a large enrollment only to be
lost as an individual. Our classes are not allowed to exceed twentyfive.
In view of the purposes and ideals of Abilene Christian College,
its improved facilities, fine student body, and the credits and the certificates
it may grant, we invite your careful investigation and fairminded
MORAL AND RELIGIOUS INFLUENCE.
Abilene Christian College is pre-eminently an institution for Christian
education. Every day's work has its devotional exercises, and
every lesson is taught by a Christian teacher. The Bible is believed
to be the inspired Word of God and students are taught to reverence
it as such and to obey its precepts.
You should be more careful in your choice of a school than you
are in guarding your health. If you needed the service of a physician
naturally you would place yourself in the hands of the best. Is it
not more important that you choose the best school, a school where
the hand, the head, and the heart are properly guided? This school
has modern equipment and competent instructors. We make a specialty
of quality, not only mental but moral and spiritual as well,
There was a time when ships were blown into harbors by friendly
winds. That time has passed. Neither are men carried by a friendly
wind into success. The boy who decides each year that he will go to
school "next year" is only drifting and is to become a never-do-well
sort of fellow. The world permits you to go your own way. The
person who fails to purpose and then make that purpose good will
find himself constantly saying, "It's just my luck." Decide right
today and join us that we may help you to realize your high purposes.
YOU MUST DECIDE
The very best opportunities are open in all of the activities of life
for thoroughly trained, energetic young men and young ladies. Will
you take advantage of them and build for yourself a noble, happy and
useful life? Or will you stand still and see others pass by you and
succeed while you fail? You must decide and it would be well for you
to decide promptly.
