233.--Contagious Diseases and Sanitation.
Lectures and recitations on promotion of health and prevention of
disease for individuals and communities. Reinforcing vitality and
normal resistance; infection, recovery, immunity, and disinfectants
practically discussed.
Prerequisite: 223. Text: Pyle's Personal Hygiene.
Library and laboratory work.
CHEMISTRY
115.-Descriptive Chemistry.
A thorough introduction to the fundamental principles of inorganic
chemistry.
Three hours lecture-recitation and six hours laboratory.
125.--Continuation of course 115.
Completion of Descriptive ;Chemistry. Thoroughness in laboratory
stressed. This course must be completed before credit is given for
115.
Three hours lecture-recitation and six hours laboratory.
215.-Qualitative Analysis.
Laboratory supplemented by recitations and lectures on general
inorganic chemistry, qualitative analysis, history of chemistry, etc.
225.-Qualitative Analysis.
A continuation of course 215. Laboratory work principally. This
course must be completed before credit is given for 215.
233.-Food Analysis.
A practical course in the study of a large number of our food
products as to content, caloric value, and adulteration.
Two hours lecture-recitation. Four hours laboratory.
PHYSICS
113.--General Physics.
The course deals with a good introduction to the fundamentals of
physics. Lectures, experiments, problems, oral and written tests.
Three hours lecture-recitation. Two hours laboratory.
No credit until the following two courses are taken.
123.-General Physics.
A continuation of course 113.
Three hours lecture-recitation. Two hours laboratory.
133.-General Physics.
A completion of Freshman Physics.
Three hours lecture-recitation. Two hours laboratory.
