DESIGNATION OR NUMBERING OF COURSES
All college courses are designated by a number of three
digits. The hundreds digit indicates the number of term-hours
the course is worth. The units and tens digits tell the rank of the
course. Courses numbered from 300 to 319 inclusive are threehour
freshman courses. Courses numbered 320 to 349 inclusive
are sophomore courses. Those from 350 to 379 inclusive are
junior courses. Those from 380 to 399 inclusive are senior
courses. Students taking freshman courses in the senior year
will receive only two thirds of the regular value of the course.
Freshman and sophomore courses are considered elementary and
junior and senior courses are considered advanced.
GRADES
The standing and record of a student is expressed in terms
of grades and points. The passing grade in Abilene Christian
College is 65 per cent and is represented by the letter D. To receive
a passing grade the student must average 65 per cent or
above on all the work of the course for the term and must also
pass the final examination. If he should fail to make 65 per
cent or above in either his class work average or his term examination
the instructor should give him a grade of E and should
specify on the grade and class cards what the student must do
to remove the condition. If the student fails on both class work
and final examination he should be given an F and be required
to take the course over. The following table of values will be
observed in grading.

If for any reason a student has not completed his course
by the time the teacher makes up his term report, he should be

the grade becomes an F.
