Photograph of an oblique view of the east (front) and north facades of the church at Mission Espada. Father Francis Bouchu's residence, reconstructed from the main part of the old mission convento, stands to the left of the church.
The Society documents the history of San Antonio and South Central Texas with an emphasis on the built environment. This history includes photographs of San Antonio street scenes and a few portraits, taken by professional photographer Ernst Raba between c. 1853 and c. 1939.

Father Francis Bouchu was a French lay priest, who moved to Mission Espada from Mission San Juan in 1885. He died in 1907.
