Enbank, who was born in Kentucky, in
1852, a daughter of Willis and Marinda
(Guest) Eubank, also natives of Kentucky.
Willis Eubank's parents, Thomas and Jane
Eubank, had five children: Christeen; Willis;
Louisa, who married John Newberry;
Martha, who married Thomas--, deceased;
and John, who married Etta S. Gum. Mrs.
Harlin's mother was a daughter of Joseph
and Betsie (Waganer) Guest; and Mrs. Guest
had first married George Springer, who died,
leaving two children: Jesse, who married
Sallie Harlin, and Ruth, who married George
Harlin. Joseph and Betsie Guest had two
children: Blue and Marinda. Mr. and Mrs.
Harlin have had eight children, as follows:
Lee, deceased; Carmie, wife of John Easter;
Zettie and Alice at home; Bertie, deceased;
Dow,John Bransford and Joseph. Politically,
Mr. Harlin is a Democrat, and religiously,
both he and wife are members of the Baptist
Church.
Further particulars of family are as
follows:
Willis Eubank had eight children by his
first wife and four by his second, whose
maiden name was Minerva Patterson. They
were: Musandry, who married Hadon Rush,
of Kentucky; Loranzo, who married Julia
Flowers, also of that State; Josephus, who
married Mittie Garrett, of Tennessee; Elizabeth,
who became the wife of Andrew
Gentry, of Kentucky; Jane, now Mrs. Jane
Hibbit, also of Kentucky: Melissa; Green,
who married Ellen Garrett, deceased; Howard,
who married Alice Rollin, of Kentucky;James; Bransford; Marinda, deceased; and
John, deceased in Kentucky.
Samuel and Nancy Harlin had ten children,
namely: Jennie, who married Mr. Welch,
deceased; George, who married Ruth
Springer, deceased; James, deceased, who
married Polly Crawford; Stephens, who
married Tishie Goodall, deceased; John;
Alexander, who married Nancy Frain, deceased;
Lucy, who wedded John Comer,
deceased; Isaac, deceased, who married
Nancy Comer; and Calvin, deceased, who
married Eliza Ann Welch.
John and Lucy Meadow had nine children,
as follows: Wesley, who married Clemmie
Dodson; Polly; Wilson, who married Jane
Jenkins; Nelson, deceased; Elizabeth, who
married Thomas Achars, since dead; Smith,
who married Sally Oglesby; Calvin, deceased;
Sarah Ann, who became the wife
of Asbury; Celsar; Mardy, who married
Amanda Hayes, deceased.
9R. J. C. WEAVER, one of the oldest
practicing physicians of Johnson county,
was born in Tennessee, in 1824, the
second child of Green and Nelly (Record)
Weaver, natives of North Carolina. The
father was a prominent merchant of Murray
county, and in 1827 moved to Carrollton,
Greene county, Illinois; in 1836 went to
Dubuque, Iowa, and followed merchandising
in that and Iowa City until 1839; and in the
fall of that year started for Texas, landing in
Red River county, in the spring of 1840,AND HILL COUNTIES.
