Mrs. Joanna Arrons is in Room 337 at Methodist
Hospital.
1 wo bridal showers honored Patti Lu Mobley, bride
elect of Melton Hawkins, this week. The first, hosted by
her bridesmaids, Anita Riley and Rhonda Steel, and
her maid of honor, Lorri Mobley, was Monday night at
First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. The second was
Tuesday night at the home of Donna Reese, hosted by
Ms. Reese and Nelda Wilson.
Even with the poor weather the attendance has been
good for the revival that began Sunday night at the
Trinity Assembly of God Church.
Jan Sims and Kay Kendall remain in Methodist
Hospital following an automobile accident on ice-
covered streets Monday.
Congressman Olin E. (Tiger) Teague has been
admitted to Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland
because of an infection from an old World War II
combat injury in his left foot. Teague entered the
hospital on the advice of the Capitol Hill physician.
Doctors at Bethesda said the Congressman will be
hospitalized for about four weeks. He represents the
sixth district of Texas, of which Cedar Hill is a part.
H. B. Jones of Grand Prairie, son of Bessie Jones of
Cedar Hill, is in intensive care unit at Methodist
Hospital following an apparent heart attack.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Graham, Mr. and Mrs. James
Dillard and Rev. and Mrs. Jerry Ott and families just
returned from a Christmas vacation in Crested Butte,
Colorado. They were lucky enough to be in a part of
Colorado where it snowed.

Rites For
R. Foster
Funeral services were
conducted recently in
California for a former
resident and brother of
Lucille Allen, 216 Belt
Line Road, Cedar Hill.
Graveside rites were
conducted Monday,
October 18, in Modesto,
California for Ruby Lee
Foster, 69.
Foster died Wednes-
day, October 13, in a Car-
michael, California, con-
valescent home following
a lengthy illness.
A resident of the Ceres,
California, area for 31
years, Foster was a
custodian for Stanislaus
School District for 20
years.
A veteran of World War
II, he was a life-long
member of the Methodist
Church.
Foster was born June
24, 1907, in Bardwell,
Texas, and was
graduated from Cedar
Hill High School in 1925.
Survivors include his
wife, Alice Foster of
Ceres; two daughters,
Loretta Poston and
Dortha Young of
Louisiana; three sisters,
Elmaria Atkins of
Marina, California,
Johnnie Grimes of El
Paso and Lucille Allen of
Cedar Hill; a brother,
Troy Foster of El Paso;
six grandchildren; and
three great-grand-
children.

Smith was named to the

Horn Tim Harryman
was one of three players

his 22 points in two
games.
Keith Noble's Horns
opened the tournament
with a 43-39 triumph over
Crandall's Freshmen.
Smith led the scoring
with 12 points.
In other Cedar Hill
scoring against Crandall,
Robert Head made 10,
Harryman sunk eight,
Johnny Thompson had
six, David Seals hit for
five and Archie Rice
tacked on ivvo points.
In the second round of
play in the championship
flight, host Ferris topped
the locals, 53-36.
Harryman led the
scoring in that second
contest with 14 points.
In other local scoring,
Smith and Head hit for
eight each, Thompson
sunk four and Seals
added two points.

services at Cave-Smith
Funeral Chapel.
Burial was in Laurel
Land Memorial Park in
Dallas.
Mrs. Fisk, 78, died
Sunday, January 2, in a
Dallas hospital.
She was released from
the hospital Christmas
Eve to spend Christmas
with her six children here
at the home of her
daughter, Robbie Slotter.
Mrs. Fisk was born
October 12,1898, in Clover
in Travis County.
Living at 321 Texas, she
had been a Cedar Hill
resident 11 years.
Survivors include four
sons, J. H. Fisk of Cedar
Hill, A. E. Fisk of Irving,
D. R. Fisk of Sherman
and W. R. Fisk of Golden,
Colorado; two daughters,
Mrs. Robbie Slotter of
Cedar Hill and Mrs. Doris
Feaster of Alvin; 22
grandchildren; and
seven great-grand-
children.

Shreveport
Funeral services for
Ocia Smith, 338 Hastings,
Cedar Hill, were
conducted Thursday,
December 30, at Well-
man's Funeral Chapel in
Shreveport, Louisiana.
Rev. W. D. Stogner
officiated.
Burial was in Forest
Park Cemetary in
Shreveport.
A retired machinist,
Smith, 85, died Monday,
December 27, in an area
nursing home.
A member of Shreve-
port Lodge No. 179,
AF&AM, for over 50
years, he was also a
member of Central
Christian Church of
Shreveport.
A native of Watertown,
Louisiana, he had lived in
Cedar Hill
approximately seven
years.
Survivors include three
daughters, Mrs. Harold
Mikell and Doris Smith,
both of Cedar Hill, and
Mrs. Virgil Nix of Bossier
City, Louisiana; two
brothers, Oswald J.
Smith of New Orleans,
Louisiana, and Jack C.
Smith of Kenner,
Louisiana; seven
grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.

Public Notice
Texas Power & Light Company, in accordance
with provisions of the Public Utility Regulatory
Act of Texas, hereby gives notice of the Com-
pany's intent to implement new schedules of
electric service rates in areas served by the Com-
pany, effective January 26, 1977, or as soon there-
after as permitted by law.
The rate schedules will result in a 34 percent
increase in the average rates charged. However,
due to greater customer conservation, the rate
changes are expected to increase the adjusted
gross revenue of Texas Power & Light Company
by 27 percent.
A complete copy of the new rate schedules is
on file with the Public Utility Commission at
Austin, Texas, and with each affected municipal-
ity, and is available for inspection in each of the
Company's public business offices.
