sive block of Goods; imported directly from the manufacturers,
in Europe, consi tins of crockery, china, glass, iron-stone, and
granite xvares: plated, Britania, Bronzed, and jaranned wares,
rvistnrs candlesticks, calie baskets, tea and eofieeurns, hanging
lamps, tea trays, tea and coffee services, stand and astral lamps,
cutlery, lamps, &cf &c, including -most articles used by house
keepers, hotel, boarding houses, and. steam boats. Successive
additions to the s ock will be made by importations from Eu-
rope, lrom time to time, and a large assortment of open goods
upon the shelves for country traders and families to elect from,
sufficiently extensive to supply anv demand. Prices 33 per
cent less than they can be obtained for by importation from the

New-Orleans, No. 13, Exchange Place, (near the ; Po-t
Office,) through which persons residing in any part of Texas
can procure any Newspaper or Magazine, in the United States,
at the published price, without any additional expense, except
postage, which on newspapers and on most magazines amounts
to about one dollar per year. The arrangements that have been
made by the subscribers, to receive their publications from the
East and North, are such as to enable them to supply their pat-
rons w ith their publications in good order, and with more cer-
tainty, regularity and despatch, than can be found in any other
method. Orders must invariably be accompanied with the
amount of subscription and United States postage lor the work
desired. The public are particularly cautioned against persons

Aweekly newspaper, lo be published in the City of Austin,
BY G. H. HARRISON.
THIS paper will be devoted to the causp of the People of
Texa, and an unwearied promoter of their general in-
terests. H will support the administration of Gen. Houston, so
far as his policy may be compatibly with the interests of the
community at large.
A portion of its pages will be appropriated to Literature, and
general intelligence.
Every assiduity will be used, to make the Texian an accept-
able visitant to the Farmer, the Mechanic, the Merchant, and
the professional man.
It wil' be printed on a super-royal sheet, and on new type.
Terms Five dollars per volume, of fifty-two numbers, in
par money, or its equivalent in Texian Treasury notes, payable,
invariably, in advance.

Having purchased the fan Felipe Hotel, formerly kept by
T. Kingsbury, and now occupied by John BolliDgei, Esq.
I will take possession of the said Hotel on the first day of No-
vember, and the travelling public may rest assured that every
comfort calculated for their convenience, will' be BoaarHuHy
and cheerfully at their service- The Stable shall be weft pro-
vided with corn,, fodder and-hay. The subscriber has a Bar
room within fitly feet of the Hotel, and it shall be stored -with
the choicest wines, liquors, and segars.. A splendid Billari
Table is in the sams room, which will be free to tiavelles for
recreation. In addition Inave the best collection of Texian.
cariosities, that can be found in the Republic of Texas,, which
were procured- by great labor &nA expense, from the bed of the
Br.izos river. 1 he traveller shall 'be pleased if these attractions
will have any weight, hesides the attention which will be eiven
