Mrs. Alma Rice.
At the hospital in Temple last
Tuesday evening at 7:30, Mrs.
Alma Rice, wife of Geo, P, Rico,
breathed her last, and her spirit
took its flight to that better
world. Only a few' days prior
Mrs. Rice had gone to Temple to
undergo an operation, from
which she never recovered. Her
remains were brought to Bart
lett on the night train and the
funeral services held at the
Mqthodist ohuroh" Wednesday
afternoon at 2; 30, conducted by
Rev. Turner of this place, and
Rev. Huckabee, of Georgetown.
The remains worn laid to rest in
the Bartlett oemetery. A'. large
orowd waQ .present to witness the
Jast tribute of respect paid to a
lovablo Christian woman pno
whoso life has been devoted to
the oause of her Master and
whose doqda of love and kind-
ness will stand b a monument to
her memory for years to come,
and yet she was only in the
prime of life about 20 years of
ago. Mrs. Rice leaves a sorrow
stricken husband and two small
children, besides a noble father
and loving mother Mr. and Mrs
J. H. Brooks of this city to
mourn her death. To the be-
reaved the Tribune extonds condolence.

;ury .adjourned Wednesday and
reported 61 indiotments 27 mis-
demeanors arid 24 felonies-
There were but few violations of

Bohemians for Iron County.
SanAngelo, Tex., Jan. 7.
George Haglostein, the retired
hardwaro merchant, who, some
weeks ago, bought 12,000 acres
Of Iron oounty farm land with
the intention of settling a colony
of German or Bohemian farmers,
sold, Thursday about 10G0 acres
of this land for 830,000 to sovjen
or eight families of Bohemians
from near Granger, Texas. These
Bohemians are well to do farm-
ers of Williamson oounty and
have returned to their home to
settle up, affairs and return their
new field in Iron county.

Fire at Prairie Dell'
On Monday night the reeidenae
of Dr. Jones of Prairie Dell was
destroyed by fire, all the content
being also destroyed. The fire
originated; about the scacnte ti
house, where, some ashes and
coals had been dumped, and the
high wind revised them. The
Tribune learns that there was Re-
insurance .on the property.
