E. F. Hudgens, from the Tennessee Conference; W. J. Morphis, from the
Kentucky Conference; J. F. Tinkle, from Oklahoma Conference; J. O. Gore,
from the New Mexico Conference; H. L. Gray, from the North Georgia Con-
ference; W. F. Campbell, from Texas Conference; A. B. C. Debnam, from
North Texas Conference.
Communications from the several connectional officers and Boards were
referred without reading to appropriate Boards or Committees.
Bishop Atkins read a communication from Rev. G. IS. Sexton concerning
the proposed church in Washington, D. C., and made some remarks com-
mendatory of the enterprise.
Prof. J. M. Alderdyce was introduced and extended to the Conference a
cordial welcome in behalf of the citizens of Waxahachie, to which the Chair
made a fitting response.
Dr. A. J. Lamar of the Publishing House and Dr. G. C. Rankin, editor
of Texas Christian Advocate, addressed the Conference.
Jerome Duncan read resolutions signed by himself and others expressing
sympathy with Hon. Jno. W. Robbins, whose wife, it was announced, had
just died in the city of Austin. The resolutions were adopted and ordered
sent to Mr. Robbins.
Dr. Early, representing the Superannuate Endowment Fund, addressed the
Conference, and Ed. R. Wallace was elected to assist him during the Confer-
ence session.
Rev. A. E. Rector of the German Mission Conference addressed the Confer-
ence concerning our work among foreign immigrants at the port of Gal-
veston.
W. E. Williams, Lay Leader of the Conference, made call for a meeting
of the laymen to consider plans for another year.
Horace Bishop spoke concerning the Texas Historical Quarterly.
A number of recent transfers and visitors were introduced to the Con-
ference.
On motion of James Campbell the hours for meeting and adjournment
were fixed at 9 o'clock a. m. and 12 o'clock m.
On motion of A. D. Porter the bar of the Conference was fixed to include
the main auditorium.
Committee on Public Worship announced preaching at 3 p. m. by Jno. A.
Rice and the Sunday School anniversary at 7:30 p. m. to be addressed by
Bishop Atkins and Dr. Bulla.
The hour of adjournment having arrived, the Conference sang a hymn and
adjourned with the benediction by R. C. Armstrong.
Second Day
The Conference was called to order at 9 a. m. by E. F. Boone, who con-
ducted the opening worship.
Bishop Atkins took the chair.
The minutes of the first day were read and approved.
The Secretary called the names of those who did not respond to first
roll call and those present were noted.

On motion of Jno. M. Barcus the further calling of the roll was dispensed
