PLANNING RETREAT
Planning has begun for the
Student Government spon-
sored Leadership Retreat.
The committee under the
direction of Don Warren is
in the process of planning
the program and selecting
the speakers. Some of
these speakers will come
from other campuses. The
retreat is scheduled for
April 6-8 at Camp Wildurr.
A n e xcellent opportunity
for graduate study is pro-
vided by the Rotary Found-
ation Fellowship for
International Under-
standing.
Fellowships will be
awarded to qualified stu-
dents, regardless of race
or creed, for the two-fold
p u r p ose of enabling them
to become ambassadors
of good will from their own
countries and to br ing home
impressions of the country
of study.
Fell owships are granted
for one academic year
beginning at the first reg-
ular term opening after
Julyl of the year for which
the award is made.
The amount of the Fellow-
ship is based on the cost of
transportation from the
F el low’s home to the city
of study and return, regis-
tration and tuition fees,
essential books and educa-
tional supplies, room and
board, and the cost of
limited travel within the
country of study. Each ap-
plicant must be a citizen
permanent residence
He must be single, and
must have reached his
twentieth, but not have
p a s s ed his 29th birthday,
as of July 1st of the year in
which study is to com-
mence .
Each a p plicant must be
able to speak and write the
language well enough to
carry on studies in a non-
English speaking country.
The selecting committees
will give preference to ap-*
plicants who desire educa-
tion in a country with
different customs and lan-‘
guage.
Fora regualr Fellowship,
students must apply
t h r o gh the Rotary club,
in, or ne a rest to, their
town or city of permanent
residence. The Rotary
club will supply application
forms to the applicant it
decides to sponsor. Forms
must be presented to the
club s e cretary not later
than 15 April, 1962.
