  • Content Description: This map shows the United States, Texas, and the surrounding areas (portions of Mexico and Canada). U.S. states and territories, as well as Texas, are shaded in various colors. Cities (with populations), Indian tribes, railroads, canals, rivers and mountains (with lengths), and other geographic features are marked on the map (with relief shown by hachures and spot heights). An "Explanation" key is under the title in the lower right corner. In the left part of the map, over a portion of Mexico, there is a table that shows "the distance from Washington to the capital or largest Town of each State; also the distance from each Capital or largest town to each of the others." Scale not given. Prime meridians: Greenwich and Washington
