THE LEADER.
HARRY TRACY SPEAKS.
A Conglomeration of Popu-
listic Unreliableness.
The populists were greatly
elated yesterday over the fact that
Harry Tracy, the only Harry, in-
tended to address the multitudes
from the band stand in the court
bouse yard. He did make a speech
but his hearers were mo&tly dem-
ocrats. The few populilt^plteent
occupied prominent seats on the
stand with the speaker and their
outbursts of enthusiasm reminded
one very forcibly of "Ranzy,"
seen at the opera house Thursday
night.
When the speaker referred to
all the free silver leaders as ready
to steal anything they could get
an old farmer in the crowd pulled
his coat and went after Tracy,
who was compelled to modify his
statement to mean that they would
steal "all things political."
Tracy was frequently inter-
rupted by people seeking informa-
tion and to all vital questions he
gave evasive replies.
His speech was about as poor
as has been heard lately and the
facts and figures used were totally
unreliable. The entire affair was
a grand farce.
Attention, Woodmen.
A rate of $1.00 for the round
trip has been secured for all those
desiring to attend the unveiling at
Sherman next Sunday. Leave
Gainesville at 8:35 returning at
10:30 p. m. Give your name to
the committee.
