THE CORNELL BOYS.
They Make a Good Impression in
England.
Thames, Eng,, June 6.—The
Cornell crew of oarsmen whicn is
to compete at the Henly regatta in
the contest for the Grand Visitor's
Challenge cup, arrived today and
were greatly pleased with quar-
ters secured for them. Their pa-
per shells arrived safely. The
weather this afternoon was beauti-
ful when the crew took the first
spin over the course. The young
men created a favorable impres-
sion among the onlookers, but the
expert Britishers ashore expressed
the opinion that they were too
light. A representative of the
Associated Press had an interview
with a member of the Cornell
crew, who said: ''The boys are
delighted with the course. It is
in direct contrast to our canal,
which afforded easy rowing."

New York, June 6.—Howe &
Hummel, when asked if there was
any truth iu the story that Mrs.
James Corl>ett would sue her hus-
band for absolute divorce, declin-
ed to make a statement. Mr. Lake,
Mrs. Corbett's father, said: "The
case is in the hands of Howe &
Hummel. My daughter is very ill,
and very much worried. Jim is
quite crazy and that is quite cer-
tain. He has not been himself
for some time. This woman who
will be named co-respondent has
such complete mastery over him
that he does not know what he is
doing. He brought her to this
