Iftore cSincerdy h^ours ... |
on Thanksgiving in 1987. He was
brought to my house by another
friend, Hans Deaton. We were all
assigned to a Palestine unit and their
families were in the Gatcsville area.
They’ve been two of my best friends
since. No one should ever be alone
on Thanksgiving.
I believe when you slight Thanks-
giving, you arc missing a valuable
and irreplaceable time in your life. I
know some of the larger retail mer-
chants chose to do it because it’s not
a very profitable holiday and Christ-
mas is so close behind.
There aren’t any costumes to be
purchased, or expensive gifts bought
on Thanksgiving. The grocers are
the only people who stand to make a
profit.
Some of the most valuable things
Thanksgiving has to offer arc love
and memories, and these arc two
items no amount of money on earth
can buy.
Thanksgiving shouldn’t be an in-
terruption in the Christmas holiday
season. Thanksgiving is a valuable
holiday and stands on its own merit.
Circle Nov. 29 on your calendar.
Try to make it extra special this year.
Let’sail remember togive God thanks
for the blessings and the family and
friends we cherish so dearly.
