and operator of Moore’s Variety
Store, located next to the New
Palace Theater, this week closed
a deal whereby he purchased the
grocery business known as the
Austin Store.
This stock will be invoiced
Monday of the coming week, at
which time the new owner will
take active charge of this busi
ness.
The market was purchased by
Louis Walker, who for the past
two weeks has been here visiting
in the home of bi£ 'mother, Mrs.
M. B. Walker. It will be opera
ted In - its present location by
M r, Walker, who is an experienc
ed meat cutter
Louis has bean employed for
the past two years with the
Geophysical Research Corp.,
doing geophy sical work here and
other sections, and until recent-
ly in the eastern part of the
State. ' >
We understand that Messers.
Moore and Walker propose to
give Seminole a business that
will merit your patronage in
each of their lines, and will
operate a cash and carry system
giving their patrons the very
cheapest prices consistant with
good merchandise.
We have not learned the future
plans of O E O’Neal and Bodine
Richardson, who had Interests
in the Austin Store, but it is
hoped that -they will remain in

A crew of workmen arrived
here the first of this week and
have begun the work of string
ing new cables and making other
changes made necessary in con-
nection with the moving of their
equipment from its present loca
tion to their pew office building.
The new office building has
been completed for several
weeks, and when properly fitted
up with added equipment will
give Seminole a local exchange
all can appreciate.
The old building op the north
west corner of the square has
been purchased by Forrest
Lumber Co., and at present no
announcement has been made as
to what improvements will be
made, if any. .

Test after Acid Treatment
C. H. Eubank No. 1 of the
Humble Oil & Refining was re-
ported prepared to drill ahead
from 5,842 feet after a 3,000 gal-
lons treatment of acid at 4.777 to
4,976 feet had failed to show only
a small amount of gas and no oil.
The well was bailed down 3,600
feet from the top. Saturation is
very small. Gas volume was
estimated at 250,000 cubic feet
per day. It is in section 6, block
AX, public school lands. It is
eight miles northwestof the only
Gaines county producer, the No.
1 Kirk.
Standard Equipment To
Be Placed on Kirk Test
Standard rig and pumping
equipment will replace other
equipment on the W. H. Kirk
No. 1, Gaines discovery well,
where it is expected another
shot may be given. The test
swabbed 120 barrels of oil in 16
hours recently. It is hoped s
good producer will be had.
Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Smallin
and niece, Ruby Jean Stovall,
visited in Lorenzo 8unday. They
were accompanied by Mr. Smal-
tins’ mother, Mrs. 8. D. Smallin
who visited here for the past
three months.
Mrs. W. A. Cox accompanied
by Mrs. 8. J. Averitt and daugh-
ter, Miss Beaulah.and Lawrence
Averitt are in Dallas attending
the Centennial Exposition. They
will visit in Hebronvllle also,
while away.
D.ennis Knight, who resides
seven miles south of town, is
making several improvements to
his farm home, together with
repairs to his barn and othsr
buildings.
