Gob For Sutton,
Richmond ’Grads’
The board of directors of a
new junior high school social
club met Wednesday, May 10, at
the home of Mrs. Mary Dodd of
Braeburn Terrace.
The club, to be known as the
Junior Highlighters, is for all
sixth grade students who wish to
join, from Sutton and Richmond
Elementary schools who will
enter Jane Long Junior High
this fall.
Mrs. Shirley Miers of Sharps-
town, president of the board,
announced that there will be a
general meeting of parents of
those who wish to join at the
Church of the Epiphany in
Sharpstown on Monday, May 22,
at 7:30 p.m. Students may be
enrolled at this time, or by con-
tacting Mrs. J. W. Holloman of
Sharpstown. Deadline for join-
ing and for paying the $10 fee
is May 25. Mrs. Miers stressed
the point that the initial mem-
bership is not restricted as to
total number. There will be a
restriction on the total mem-
bership after the deadline only
as to the relation of the number
Of boys to the number of girls.
Parents of sixth graders at
Sutton and Richmond whose chil-
dren wish to join the Junior
Highlighters are urged to attend
Monday’s meeting.
Fire Damages ...

They waked six-year-old
Craig Alan and went next door
to a neighbor’s house, she said.
Firemen were on the scene
a minute and a half after they
were called, Mrs. White said.
When the Whites arrived home
about 15 minutes later, all was
under control, Mrs. White said.
“The way those firemen hand-
led the situation without water
damage to the rest of the house
was just wonderful,” she said.
“They are certainly to be highly
commended.
The family is temporarily re-
siding with Mrs. White’s par-
ents, the W. A. Millers at 4810
Wedgewood, until their home
can be repaired.

county fair will be the variety
show presented by the Sanc-
tuary and Youth Choirs under
the direction of Eileen Marshall,
a hair-raising Fun House man-
ned by the Primary Department,
old-fashioned Fish pond spon-
sored by the Kindergarten Class,
cartoon. movies by the Junior
Department and a variety of
kiddie rides.
Clowns who’ll add to the car-
lap, Bud Williford, Sam Kiel-
man. Judy Wells, Beverly Grim-
es, Paul Stratton and Sara
Stratton.
The entire community is in-
vited to attend and participate
in the two-day event with one
warning: This comes from Sher-
iff Joe Strother who says that
his special carnival calaboose is
all ready and waiting for anyone
arrested for not wearing a name
tag which will be issued all com-
ers at the carnival gates.
MISS GRACE ELOISE HELM
Mr and Mrs. Jack Kenneth
Helm, 830 Jaquet, announce
the engagement and ap-
proaching marriage of their
daughter, Grace Eloise, to
Robert J. Bugg, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert J. Bugg,
