J. E. Dickson made a shame-
ful and unprovoked assault on Dr J. A.
Malcolm, using a pair of brass knucks, and
vile and abusive language. He was
arrested, and to-day was fined $16.00 and
costs.
The wages of the employees
of the Central R’y have been cut down 10
per cent., and there will be a reduction of
the clerical force at the freight office here,
two having already been discharged bv
orders from the General Office.

Mclutosh. McKavett, Richardson and
Stockton, atRingoLd Barracks, and at San
Antonio, Texas, of such quantities of fresh
beef, as may bo required by the Subsis-
tence Departmental those posts from July
1, 1877, to June 30. 1878, or such less time
as the Commissary General of Subsistence
may direct.
Bids will state the price per pound, net,
both on the hoof and block. For condi-
tions, etc,, apply to; five undersigned or to
the Acting Commissary at any of the posts
