The copper ore discovered in
Ashe county, North Carolina, in
July last, is about to developc into
a bonanza. A vein twenty feet wide
has been reached, which it is be-
intefests free of i lieved will prove to be twenty-five
silly enough to j feet wide, and
any press was sub- opened
sidized by the four or five dollars
paid by Messrs. Bates <S: Locke for
the insertion of the extracts they sent
them, neither is it reasonable to sup-
pose any editor would publish them
who was not favorable to Mr. Til-
den’s candidacy. We believe the
press of the country is the
proper medium through which the
merits of a candidate should
be made known, and if it is legiti-
it has already been
over a thousand feet in
length. Seven hundred men are
employed, and the work is being
pushed vigorously,
four bundled pounds of pure copper
to the ton. Ten blast furnaces arc
at Work and ten thousand pounds
of the refined metal is turned out
daily.

well-known Wilson Compound Feed on both sides of the needle. It
has two-thirds less parts than any other first-class Sewing Machine.

“It takes time,” is the reply of the
doctor, when his cough-convulsed patient
says the medicine prescribed produces no
effect. Now the great merit of Hale’s
Honey of Ilorehound and Yar is, that its
