club where Schaps works had seen
Schaps at the club continually last

The dead woman’s mother, Mrs.
Frances Polfus, told police Schaps
was “jealous” of her daughter and
“threatened” her.
Detectives had said they were
seeking a “jealous suitor” as the
killer as the result of the accjun;

Leather Meal
OK’d By Court
DROHICZYN, Poland (IP) —By
eating a leather shoe sole, Andrew
Szatkwoski established a reputation
of possessing an ostrich-like diges-
tion and earned 100 xloty ($18).
Szatkowski boasted to a shoe-
maker, that his teeth could demolish
anything, even leather.
“I’ll give you 100 zloty if you eat
a shoe sole," said the incredulous
cobbler.
But when Szatkowski devoured
the tough morsel, the shoemaker re-
fused to fulfill his part of the bar-
gain, because, he said, h ethought It
was all just a joke. The local judge,
however, held that a proper con-
tractual obligation had been incur-
red, and Szatkowski got his money.
