Marriage Of
Couple Announced
Coming as a surprise to their ma-
ny friends was the announcement
of the marriage of Miss Bessie White
to Mr. John Smith, both of this city,
at Sayre, Okla., Tuesday, Nov. 13.
The bride wore a dark green suit
with black accessories and was at-
tended by Mio. Gaston Beach.
Mrs. Smith is the daughter of M.
J. White of Dozier and has been a
nurse at the Beahh Sanitarium for
the past four years. She has made
many friends here during that time.
The groom Is the well known son
of Mrs. R. T. Hill and has spent
most of his life In this vicinity Mr.
and Mrs. Smith will make their
home In Shamrock until the first of
the year when they will move to
Dallas where Mr. Smith has accepted
a position as bookkeeper In Baylor
University. Congratulations have
been extended to them by their ma-
ny friends.

Literary Club
Meets Monday
The Gloom Chasers Literary Club
met Monday evening at the home of
Mrs. Ernest Fletcher. The house
was called to order by the president
and members elected a reporter and
a play director. A decision was made
that the club should meet Thursday
evening at seven o’clock of each
week.
Thre<j of the members were sur-
prise^, with a birthday party after
the /%gular business meeting Re-
freshments were served after a num-
ber of games were played. The next
meeting will be with Mrs. Mary
Smith. ,
