Denison Again Noe On List
Accredited Hospitals
Denison will again be left out ot the
list of hospitals recognized by the Amen-
jeai< College of Surgeons this year, ac-
cording to a report forthcoming which i-.
t,n the hands of newspapers this week
|sary to let Denison receive this recognition..
Ibut found a lack of cooperation which is
•given by other hospitals as steps neces-
sary for such recognition.
The fact that cities near Denison have
'been receiving this recognition right along
and their names appear in the aoeerdited
list will do Denison no amount of good to
those who are looking for hospitals to pa-
tronize and who know are influenced by
such talking points.
It would seem that since Denison is
desirota of placing everything on the top
shelf and take every possible advantage
of its present opportunity to make the city
| do its best and be most efficient, that the
I Mel proper authorities would take the mutter
Plunder special advisement and act.
55;" Certainly a city well equipped with
a hospital and affiliated with a stan-
dardized college of surgeons is something
to be desired and is in a class along with
.any kind of industrial advantage or huge
project t(hat may be placed here by public
or private money.
SEEN A,T STATE FAIR
The state and county fairs are a firm-
ly entrenched tradition in this country.
They provide education no less than en-
tertainment and a good time for the whole
family. On the serious side, they show
what agriculture has accomplished.
Expert visitors to recent fairs have
been impressed by tjhe stress laid on equal-
ity. Better fruits, better vegetables, better
dairy products—all along the line, the
products of the farm are constanty attain-
ing higher standards. And a larRp meaS"
lire of *he credit for that achievement

operatives.
These co-ops have long laid special
stress on better producing methods—meth

al. Harry placed that in iiis
promises when he ran for a city
office this year and something
would have been done about it
had he been elected. Harry knew
that one of the greatest needs of
the city is a good hospital that is
recognized by the American Col-
lege of Surgeons. He knows that
n well equipped building from the
foundation up, is greatly needed
here and will be one of the great-
est assets the city could have If
we don’t get something started on
it soon, it will be too late to get
any advantage of the available
funds for such purposes. Sunn a
hospital is not for the financial
benefit to the physicians who
shall live here, as some seem to
think, and who hold back saying
let the doctors build it. The hos-
pital it needed for the general
good of the city.

their needs over in England. . .
And speaking of such well wish-
ing °n the part of loyal Denison
people, there certainly must be
some here who wish it around the
other way. from the manner in
which they receive the pro-Eng-
lish editorials of the Press. When
we find a fellow wth a German
name cussing the Press, and who
will not come out and say why
he is abusing it, we have reason
fo place the cause at opposing our
efforts against the Hun. We lo-
cated so many of those birds dur-
ing the last world war that we
fairly well know all their angles
to be pro-German and talk anoth-
er way. . . .Well, we are this way
about it, if there is a person here
who withholds patronage from the
Press because of its loyalty to
America against all the isms of
the dictators and Huns and half-
hearted Americans, then they can
keep that patronage. We are go-
ing to be loyal to the country that
has given us everything. If we let
the Hun get hold of us we will
lose evrything for which our fa-
thers have died and for which we
have striven—so. Mr. German

^ the soup tureen welcome on
our dinner or supper table. Soups
aie healthful and nutritious and
stimulate the appetite.
Rich hot soups are ideal to com-
bine with cold foods or simple
vegetable dishes, on days when the
budget is slim. Well seasoned con-
somme or vegetable bouillon is an
i ideal starter for a substantial dln-

Thick chowders and meat and
vegetable combinations make a
luncheon or supper in themselves.
Add a few attractive garnishes, an
interesting hot bread, a simple
dessert and beverages and you
have a meal that is as satisfying
as it is healthful.
Serve one of the following soups
tonight:
