OTTWELL RATHFORD — Is a
Junior in High School. He lives 2
miles west ol Lela and is a Future
Farmer in V A. II. He is liked by
,11 the boys and girls, and is popu-
lar for his ability to always have
something to say. His F. F- A. ac-
tivity is dairy judging. Ott is tak-
ing handicraft and has just finish-
ed his first billfold. He likes every-
% except Math.
CARLEY PARRISH-was bom
six miles south of Shamrock, Au-
gust 3, 1925. He has lived in this
I community singe that time. Carley
Lfcs now a junior in Shamrock High.
His school activity is baseball. He
likes everyone and everything ex-
cept English. This is his second
year in F. F. A. and Vocational
, Agriculture. He is noted for his
jfttalking during Agriculture class,
j. E. LOWERY—lives at Pakan
and is a junior in Shamrock High.
He is a Future Farmer in VA. II. He
is the class watch dog at the door,
i _He plays indoor ball. He is a good
['•Worker in the chapter and in the
Defense Shop. He likes to work in
the tool shop and dislikes sassy
dames. ,, .
ELWARD LEON CLAY—lives at
.-.Twitty, Texas, where he is very
popular. He has one brood sow and
nine fattening swine and five acres
of cotton, five acres of feed and
one brood mare. He is second vice
president in our chapter, and a
•green hand in VA. I. Cotton is a
Sophomore in high school and is
liked by everyone (including the
girls) He dislikes English and you
can guess why. No one knows his
hobby but himself. „ . „
ft H. G. FINLEY—lives about 2 1-2
miles northwest of Shamrock. H. G.
is a freshman in High School and
is class vice-president in VA. I. He
has a fine brood mare and some
-field crops for his projects. He dis-
•hikes having to go to school and
likes camping and playing hookey
from school. His school activity is
boxing. He has a fine personality
and is liked by everyone.
L. B. VALENTINE—Uves 2 miles
• east of Shamrock on the 66 High-
way. He is a green hand in V A. I
and a freshman in high school. He
has a brood sow and five acres of
cotton and five acres of milo for his
.ft projects. He plans to take V A. II
next year. He has a fine personal-
ity and Is liked by everyone. His
hobby is woodworking.
LIN WELCH—lives at Twitty,
and is a freshman in school. He is
ft classed as a green hand in V A. I.
His office is Junior Secretary and
his projects are one fattening calf,
one fattening swine and six acres
of cotton. He likes Shamrock High
but dislikes high tempered people.
• His hobby is staying out late at
night.
CHARLES WALKER—lives in
Shamrock and is a green hand in
VA. I. His office In the chapter is
b junior reporter. His projects are a
ft heifer, a cotton crop and 50 chick-
ens. He dislikes algebra and likes
girls, football and basketball. He
has a very pleasing personality.
E. L. WILLIAMS—lives at Plaln-
ft view, he is a green hand in VA. I,
- and has the office of class reporter.
He likes livestock, and dislikes Cot-
ton Clay’s big mouth. He has a
very pleasing personality and his
hobby is feeding livestock,
ft ELTON COE—Uves at Lela, Tex-
as and is a green hand in VA. I.
He is junior In high school and is
class parliamentarian. He has a Po-
land China brood sow and field
crops for his projects. He likes to
ft- ride horseback and dlshkes goats.
His hobby Is collecting arrow heads.
W. A. BENTLY—lives at Magic
City. W. A. is a Greenhand in VA.
I and he is a sophomore in high
school.
ft CARL MARTIN—lives at Sham-
rock. He is the president of the
F. F. A. Chapter and is a Junior in
High School. Carl works very hard
on the meetings, he also puts out
4 much hard work on the Father and
Son banquet, etc. He likes the chap-
ter and the school, and also the
girls. ,, .
JAMES ANDERSON — lives 4
miles west of Lela. He is a Junior
ft in Shamrock High and does his
work fine. “Buddy” likes football
games and boxing, also his work in
Vocational Ag. Buddy has begun
work in Handicraft. He has a per-
sonality that makes everyone Uke
^ hlGLEN BROTHERTON — is a
sophomore and future farmer.
“Bud" is active in school activities
and work in the chapter The ban-
auet and parties being his speclal-
® ty He lives at Shamrock His Proj-
ects include a gilt and a fine heifer
He is popular among both boys and
girls.

I LEE MORGAN—was born In the
I Bethel community sixteen years ago
j and went to school there for eight
years. He is now a sophomore in
j high school. His hobbies are riding
and baseball.
ELVIN CLAY—was born March
21, 1926, one and three-fourths
miles north of Twitty, Texas. He
attended school at Twitty for seven
yeas and entered S. H. S. In 1939.
The next year he entered V A. I
and the F. F. A. Chapter. He has
been active In the chapter for the
past two years. He furnishes plenty
of laughs and fun at all meetings
and classes, and is also known as
‘Rough House Rosy” by the boys
of the chapter. He dislikes study-
ing and has a habit of going to
Bethel.
FRANK LUMMUS—lives in the
Bethel community and is a junior
in high school. This is his second
year in V. A. and in the chapter.
He is 15 years old and treasurer of
the V. A. II class. He likes English
and baseball but does not like His-
tory. „ „ —
GLENN VANPOOL — lives at
Bethel and is a sophomore in high
school, he is also a future far»er-
Hank dislikes English and likes
baseball. He is a good worker in the
chapter and especially in the new
National Defense Shop. He is very
calm to be a red-head. He holds the
office of class parliamentarian. He
also likes plenty of Pret^J^k' _
CALVIN MONTGOMERY—lives
at Twitty and is the president o
the junior class in Shamrock High
school. He is also the historian of
the F. F. A. chapter. His school ac-
tivities are football, basketball, and
track Calvin has helped the chap-
ter in many different ways such as
the fat stock show. He also carries
a good line of projects and is liked
by everyone on the campus. Cow-
boy is also entering the F. F • a.
speaking contest to be held at
C1Mdec,. BROTHERTON-lives in
Shamrock and is senior m high
school, he is also the F. F. A. re-
porter, which is a hard place in the
chapter. His main activity is bas-
ketball. He is a good worker in our
chapter. M. G. likes basketball and
agriculture, but dislikes English. M.
G is popular among both boys and
girls.
JOHN MCDOWELL—lives at Le-
la and Is a sophomore and secretary
of our F. F. A. Chapter John is
quite, and pleasant, and is willing
to do most anything that is given
him to do. John did good work in
helping opr fat slock show go over
this year. He likes cherry pie with
whipped cream, but dislikes being
lost on street cars.
HAROLD WILLIAMS lives at
Twitty. His grades are about on
the average and he is vice-president
of the chapter. Harold plays foot-
ball, and is very active in the chap-
ter, he has helped in many ways
Harold likes dates and has quite a
success at them. He dislikes having
to bring up outside work in h^
classes. He is liked by all in S. H. S.
PAUL PIKE—the pocket-size boy
of our chapter is 14 years old and
Uves at Lela Hill. He is a green
hand In V. A. and a freshman In
high school. His projects are a pig,
chickens and 5 acres of cotton. PUre
is secretary of our V. A. I- ela“*
and is making a good hand in his
W°KENNETH E. LISTER—lives at
Shamrock and is a greenhand hi
F F. A. chapter. He is a freshman,
in his projects are a gilt, two milk
cows and five acres of cottom He
dislikes algebra and likes football.
He ih the Junior Historian of the
chapter. His hobby is collecting de-
fense stamps.
SAM THOMPSON—uves at Lela.
His projects are two hogs and cot-
ton crop. He is a Junior Parliamen-
tarian. He has a good personality.
His hobby is riding wild horses.
THURMAN RIVES - lives at
Twitty Flat. He has a group of spot,
ted Poland China hogs. He has all
sizes and shapes. He holds the of-
fice of Chapter Treasurer. This is
his third year in the chapter and
he seems to be doing good with his
C RALPH (Chubby) COLLINS-
WORTH—lives at Bethel, is a good
sport. For his projects he has 10
acres of cotton, 10 acres of feed,
two show calves, 1 brood sow, and
a saddle horse. In the F. F. A.
chapter he is a junior farm police.
He is a green hand and a fresh-
man in SHS. He likes very much
to save his daddy's tires when he
has the car at night. He is a very
good boy (Sometimes) and every
body likes him. His hobby is hunt-
ing (girls).
W. A. BENTLY—Uves at Magic
City. He is a green hand in V. A. I
and he is a sophomore in high
school. W. A. has a Duroc Jersey
Brood sow, a milch cow, and 4 meat
hogs. He likes hunting rabbits, dis-
likes poodle-dogs. His hobby is col
lecting gum wrappers.
GL&TN THROCKMORTON—Uves
in Shamrock. Glyn is a freshman
in high school and a greenhand in
F. F. A. His projects are chickens
and fattening hogs for his meat.
He likes to terrace land and work
in the shop. He has a good person-
lty and is liked by all the boys. Glyi,
has a hobby of making model air-
planes.
BENOIZ SKEETERFIELD—lives
at Elephant Town and is a wind
bag of the chapter. He is a green
hand in V. A. and a freshman in
school. He has a litter of bicycles,
a flock of donkeys, a group of bil-
ly goats and a flock of hounds for
his projects. He likes to court the
girls all night long, from midnight
on, and then come to perform his
duties in V. A.
JACK SANDERS—Uves at Bethel.
He is the second class president.
This is his first year in V. A. I. He
is a freshman in SHS. His hobby
is going to school. He Ukes girls
and hates boys. He has a bad per-
sonaUty.
JIMMY CLOSE—lives at Lela. He
is 14 years old and is a freshman
in high school. Jimmy is a green
hand in agriculture. His projects
for this year are: Beef calves, a
dairy heifer, and a brood sow. Also
he is active and very popular boy
in school. He has $25.00 in defense
bonds and $10.00 in defense stamps.
DAN MACINA—Lives at Pakan.
He is a freshman in high school.
He ranks as a green hand in V. A.
1 and is 14 years old. Dan has two
projects, brood sow and fattening
FFA BOYS PURCHASE

$60 TO $90 PER HEAD FOR
BLOODED HEIFERS
Five boys in vocational agricul-
ture I and II had the opportunity
of purchasing registered Jersey
heifers through the Farm Security
Administration loan. These boys
Jimmy Close, J. E. Lowry, Dewayne
George, Bob Terry, and John
Reeves. Other boys have their ap-
plication in to purchase one from
another herd.
Jake Tarter and Claud Holley
brought the herd of 32 Jerseys from
near Fort Worth. These calves were
the first herd brought to Wheeler
county to be purchased by FFA and
4-H club boys. The boys paid from
$60 to $90 for these calves. All these
calves came from sires that sired
600 pounds of butterfat or more.
The boys have five years to pay
off the debt but they should pay off
