of the bride's parents Saturday
evening at 0:00 o'clock, with Rev.
S M. Dunnam, pastor of the First
Methodist Church, officiating in the
impressive double-ring ceremony.
Vows were exchanged before an
improvised altar arranged with a
background of woodwardia fern,
tall white wicker baskets of white
mums, and white gladioli. Cathe-
dral tapers burned in wrought iron
candelabra, casting a soft illumi-
nation upon the setting..
Miss Mary Elizabeth Pendleton
played ‘'Nocturne” by Scriabin, and
accompanied Mrs. Lyle Holmes as
she sang: “Because,” by d'Hardelot,
and “I Love You Truly," by Carrie
Jacobs Bond. Miss Pendleton played
“The Bridal Chorus,” from the
opera “Lohengrin,” by Wagner, as
the bride entered.
Candles were lighted by Marvin
Tindall, brother of the bride, and
Donald Brown of Dallas, brother
of the bridegroom.
Mrs. Tom Risley of Amarillo, was
matron of honor. She wore a street-
length dress of brown and, copper
satin with a hat fashioned of cop-
per feathers. She carried a bouquet
of copper daisies.

tie Sue Hill, cousin of the bride,
and Miss Gloria Brown of Dallas,
sister of the bridegroom poured.
Guests were registered by Miss
Kathleen Tindall, cousin of the
bride, and Mrs. W. K. Savage, of
Port Arthur also a cousin of the
bride, assisted with the serving.
Mrs. Earl Roger was in charge
of the refreshments and Mrs. J. H.
Caperton, the floral arrangements.
The bride traveled in a suit of
luggage tan with black accessories, ..
and wore a corsage of talisman j1|
roses. The couple will visit points j I
in Colorado before returning to i m§.
Austin, where they will make their
home.
Mrs. Brown is a graduate of the ^
Shamrock High School and of the
University of Texas. Following her
graduation she was a teacher at
the University serving as pharmacy ] M
laboratory instructor.
The bridegroom Is a graduate of
the Woodrow Wilson High School
of Dallas, and served his country
three years with the United States
Army. At present he Is a student
at the University of Texas, Austin.

The attractive bride entered onjMr. and Mrs. Earl Kromer, Ama

her in marriage. She was attired in
a street-length dress of honey beige
satin, designed with a high round
neck and three - quarter - length
sleeves. The skirt was styled with a
draped back. She wore a hat of blue
feathers and carried a bouquet of
talisman roses.
The bride’s mother chose a wine
crepe dress and her corsage was a
flesh pink glaya.
The mother of the bridegroom
wore a black crepe with turquoise
sequin trim, and an orchid corsage.
Following the ceremony a recep-
tion was held, the bride's table was
laid with an exquisite cloth of Ita-
lian cut-work, edges in lace. The
central arrangement was of white
roses, with the three-tiered wed-
ding cake, topped with a wedding
rillo; Bill Montgomery, Amarillo;
Mr. and Mrs. 0. B. Harrison, Jr.,
of Houston; Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Tin-
dall and son, Herman, of Trent,
Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Henderson
Coffman of Wheeler, and Mrs, Gus
Leftwich of Childress.

Saturday from Sweetwater, where
she attended the 50th wedding an-
niversary of one of her brothers
whom she hadn't seen In 24 years.
She met many relatives and old
friends while there. She returned
by way of Rankin and visited a
few days with her daughters, Mrs.
T. H. Blue and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Montgomery
were in Mineral Wells last week
where Mr. Montgomery attended a
Chevrolet sales school.
Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Peterson and
children of Turlock, Calif., and Mrs.
O. A. Butts and sons, Morris and
John, spent the past few days in
Austin visiting their son and bro-
ther, Raymond Butts and his wife.
The young people of the First
Methodist Church who will be leav-
ing soon for college, were enter-
tained with a coffee last Sunday
morning in the parlor of the First
Methodist Church. Mrs. Clyde Whit-
tle was hostess for the affair, which
was sponsored by the Woman’s So-
ciety of Christian Service.
The lace covered table was de-
corated with a basket of yellow and
white chrysanthemum. Mrs. S. M.
Dunnam presided at the coffee ser-
vice.
Mrs. Whittle spoke briefly In be-
half of the Woman's Society of
Christian Service. Bill Montgomery
welcomed the first year students to
West Texas State College at Can-
yon, and Rev. S. M. Dunnam, pas-
tor, gave an appropriate message.
Those attending were: Misses Ida
Louise Knoll, Charlotte Stevens,
Emmaline Williams, Eleanor Dun-
nam, Barbara Scott and Janet Ca-
perton; Messrs Marvin Tindall, Bill
Montgomery, Jack Douglas, Wendell
Scott, Bernice Lewis, Rev. and Mrs.
Dunnam and the hostess.

Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Bagwell and
