Go to the Polls.
It is a matter of the utmost
importance that every voter
in Hill county, who is in fa-
vor of the county seat re-
maining at Hillsboro, should
go to the polls and cast his
vote. Do not be deceived
with the idea that there will
be plenty of votes without
yours. A victory by only a
small majority means the
worry and expense of another
election five years hence.
Let us settle this question
nowand forever. Every pri-
vate and public interest of
the county demands it. We
want railroads, manufacto-
ries and capital to develop
our resourses, and these will
never come among a people
who are continually at war
with themselves. Do not
stay away with the excuse
that your crop is in the grass
and you cannot spare the
time. Every friend of Wood-
bury will be at the polls, and
our friends must be equally
vigilant. We have the vic-
tory already gained it every
patriot will do his duty. Our
only danger lies in the care-
lessness of out friends. 1 here
is more at stake than the sim-

The Dallas News of the 30th ult.
contained the following notice in
regard to the Hillsboro and Dallas
road : “That the Missouri, Kan-
sas and Texas will be extended
from Lancaster to Waxahachie dur-
ing the summer is now certain.
Judge Brewer has issued an order
authorizing the receivers to pro-
ceed with the extension, and it is
of importance that the work should
be done as early as possible. It is
expected the receivers will let the
contract as soon as they return to
Sedalia, both of them being absent
from headquarters at the present.
The distance from Lancaster to
Waxahachie is sixteen miles, and
the extension of the road through
this territory will divert a large
amount of business to the road
that is now done over other out-
lets.”
A man who would do in-
jury to a town and commu-
nity just because some one
or two people therein had not
been just to him, would
wreck a whole train ol inno-
cent passengers in the hope
of destroying one enemy.
Fort Keogh, Montana, has the
widest range of temperature of any
ulace on earth. Last summer the
thermometer ranged from 120 to 130
degrees above, while recently it
marked 65 degrees below zero—a
total range of 195 degrees.
