Stella King Cathey
A Dublin woman, Mrs. Stella
K. Cathey who is one of the
few women students at Texas
AAM has been further distin-
guished this year with her se-
lection to the Honor Society of
Phi Kappa Phi.
Mrs. Cathey was Informed
of her selection for election to
membership in the Honor Soci-
ety of Phi Kappa Phi on March
30.
Membership qualifications to
Phi Kappa are based on the
individual interest, accomplish-
ment and contribution to aca
demic achievement and the
standards for election in tills
society are higher than any oth-
er honor aodet at AAM. Hie
primary purpose of the society
is to encourage and promote out-
standing scholarship.
Mrs. Cathey, 1963 salutatorian
of the Dublin High School grad-
uating class has maintained a
high grade average during this
year at AAM with no grade un
der B.
The Society’s initiation ban-
quet is slated for May 10 at the
Memorial Student Center on the
AAM Campus.
Mrs. Cathey, the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Loyd L. King of
Dublin is married to James
Robert Cathey, also an AAM
student. Mrs. Cathey is a jun-
ior and an elementary educa-
tion major. Her husband is
working on his Master’s degree.

Mr. and Mrs. Charley Mor-

Mrs. Jean Thiebaud and Mrs.
Orval Fair attended P.T.A. on
Wednesday afternoon.
The Good Neighbor Chib will
meet at the Community Cen-
ter Thursday afternoon April 21
for their monthly meeting. The
meeting will be a ‘Fun Meet-
ing.’ Mrs. Edyth Chaney and
Mrs. Irene Wilson will be the
hostesses and everybody is In-
vited to attend.
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Keith,
Bill and Janie Keith and Mrs.
Thurston House attended the
singing in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Loyd Bays Tuesday night.
The mothers of the communi-
ty who have children in grade
school helped with the egg hunts
and picnics Thursday.
Mmes. Julia and Lem Thie-
baud visited Tuesday afternoon
with Mrs. Walter (Pet) Sitton
and Mrs. Velma Ross in Dub-
lin.
Miss Bertha Ross accompa-
nied her niece, Mrs. Bernice
Ward of Comanche, to Fort
Worth to visit Mr. 'and Mrs
Herman Gilder. They all drove
to Dallas to visit with Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Rippetoe and fam-
ily Walter is doing better and
looking forward to coming
down this way for a visit in the
future.
La Juan Fair drove her
pandmoiher, Mrs. Julia Thie-
baud, to Eastland to catch a
bus to Midland where she will
be visiting for a few days.

tended a fertilizer meeting in

ry Bays. Everyone has an in-
vitation to attend.

home from the Dublin hospital
Sunday after spending a few
days as a patient with an in-
fected throat.
Several from this way have
visited Mrs. Loy (Edyth) Rob-
erson in the Dublin hospital.
Edyth is suffering from burns
received Thursday while wash-
ing clothes. Here’s wishing her
a speedy recovery.
Brother and Mrs. J. D. Mar-
tin were Sunday dinner guests
in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
S. E. Keith and family.

Grauke of Dublin and Ruby Lee
Keith visited Friday afternoon
with Judy Wilson.
Mr. and Mrs. Connie Mack
Fair of Zapata visited over the
weekend with his parents, Mr.

Round Grove Church Sunday

County School Board meeting
in Stephenville Monday.
Friday, Martha Thiebaud en-
joyed a picnic at Proctor Lake
with a group of her friends.

Dublin Chamber of Commerce
was held Monday night, April
11 at 7:30 at the Sunset Cafe.
Leslie Billingsley, president
directed the meeting and call-
ed for the routine secretarial
and treasurer’s reports. Both
were presented by Seth Turner,
secretary.
