Postcard of a manor in the middle-ground. The courtyard is fenced in by a stone wall. The hills form a valley where the house rests. On the back, a description is written as follows, "Abbotsford - Built 1811-1824, the home of Sir Walter Scott Bart. Born 1771. Died 1832. Sir W. Scott's old Front Door and the Courtyard in the foreground. The original stone base of Edinburgh Market Cross is opposite the front door."

The McFaddin-Ward House, built around 1905-1906 in the Beaux-Arts Colonial style, housed a prominent family in Beaumont for 75 years. The museum of the same name preserves the building and the artifacts, providing visitors with a firsthand glimpse of Southeast Texas History.
