Zirbel-Martin Nuptials
Miss Cassandra Zirbel,daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Zirbel,
was married to Steve Martin,
son of Mr. and Mrs. George Mar-
tin, in ceremonies held May 30
at 2:30 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catho-
lic Church.
For the wedding the bride chose
a flowing white dress of silk or-
ganza embellished with pink trim
at the bodice and wore an elbow
length veil accented with fresh
flowers at the crown.
Miss Zirbel’s bridesmaids
wore bright pink and green flor-
al dresses also with pink trim
at the bodice. They, too, wore
fresh flowers.
The bride is a former stew-
ardess with National Airlines.
The groom is an accounting ma-
jor and also plays football at
LSU.
The couple will reside in Hous-
ton for the summer and will re-
turn to LSU for the fall semes-
ter.

Ludurg-Barron Vow
Miss Linda Louise Ludurg,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin
Ludurg of Bellaire, became the
bride of Allen C. Barron, son of
Mrs. Florian D. Barron of Hous-
ton, on May 16 in Holy Ghost
Catholic Church, with Fr. Paul
Johnson of the University of
Houston Newman Centerofficiat-
ing.
For the wedding, the bride
chose a formal gown of candle-
light silk organza with an oval
neckline, fitted wais*, long tap-
ered sleeves and a full-length
train. The gown was appliqued
with Alencon lace re-embroid-
e red with pearls. Her veil of white
silk illusion was held by flowered
petals of pearled lace and fell In
soft folds below her shoulders.
She carried a crescent of white
roses and a mother of pearl
rosary.
Maid of honor was Miss Judy
Ludurg, sister of the bride, of
Chicago. Bridesmaids were Miss
Kathy Barkley of Houston and
Miss Susan Huston of Arkansas.
Thomas Barron served his
brother as best man. Groomsmen
were John Cozart and William V.
Walker.
Following the ceremony, a re-
ception was heldattheMeyerland
Club.
After a wedding trip to Acapu-
loc and Mexico City, the couple
will make their home In Houston.

Chisholm-Burke Pledge
The wedding vows of Miss Pa-
tricia Elaine Chisholm and John
Eugene Burke Jr. were solem-
nized in an afternoon double-ring
ceremony June 6 in the First
Christian Church. Dr. J.R. Mof-
fett officiated.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Joseph Leonard Chisholm,
4918 Holt, and the late Mr. Chi-
sholm. Parents of the groom are
Mr. and Mrs. John E. Burke of
LaMarque.
Given in marriage by her uncle,
David C. Chisholm, the bride
chose a gown of silk linen weave,
fashioned in the empire style,
which had been her sister’s. The
line was accented by a rounded
neckline, bell sleeves and a cha-
pel-length train trimmed in im-
ported Irish lace. Her headpiece
of daisies complemented a fin-
gertip veil. She wore diamond
heirloom earrings which belong-
ed to the groom’s grandmother.
Mrs. Joseph H. DiCarlo III at-
tended her sister as matron of
honor. Bridesmaids were Miss

Cynthia Cruz and Miss Cynthia
Ellisor.
The attendants wore gowns of
navy blue foil with white flocked
daisies, fashioned after the
bride’s gown. They also wore
ribboned headdresses with
daisies.
Michael Lee Burke served as
best man. Groomsmen were J.H.
Di Carlo and Michael Summerlin,
with H.A. Sebastian and Robert
Anderson as ushers.
Out-of-town guests at the wed-
ding included the bride’s paternal
grandmother, Mrs. M.M. Chi-
sholm of Odessa; her maternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D.E.
Patridge, also of Odessa; and
the groom’s uncle and aunt, Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas W. Burke Jr.
of Phoenix.
The bride is a graduate of
Bellaire High School and is a
nursing student at Texas Wom-
an’s University. The groom is a
Third Class Petty Officer in the
U.S. Navy, and is an air con-
troller.
After a wedding trip to West
Texas, the couple will live in
Goliad.
