Ware is candidate
for Council Pos. 3
“My time will be devoted
to determining what is ne-
eded, what people want, and
what can be done dinancially
and practically. This is
what being a council mem-
ber Is all about,” stated
Louis Ware, candidate for
posidon 3, Bellaire City
Council.
Security for the families
in Bellaire and service t6
them are her concerns. L-
tving in an awareness of the
function of city government
through her fathe, a lawyer
and city attorney, and her
brother, a city manager.de-
celoped her conviction that
each issue must be studied
and decided so it can stre-
ngthen the environmental
and economic health of the
city, according to Mrs. W-
are.
She would like toexplore
all sources of available fu-
nds before instead of after
they are needed.
She is opposed to a “m-
etro” type of government,
because she does not want
Bellaire to lose its attrac-
tive identiity. Instead, she
would explore the possible
advantages of combining p-
urchases of many items wh-
ich each small city buys,
pipe, paper, conduit, pumps,
autos. For example, could-
n’t 20 cars be bought at a
lower unit price than just
one or two at a time?
“I would like to know th-
at the token dollars each
councilman receives for his
time in council meetings is
buying for the people of Be-
llaire multiples of that time.
What I do know is that I
have this extra time for co-
mpetent preparation and sh-
all use it the best I can,"
she stated as her only cam-
paign promise.
