Braeswood Square Shopping Center can be approached from any
direction in Southwest Houston. It’s located at the intersection of
two major traffic arteries, North Braeswood Blvd. and Chimney
Rock. This brand new shopping facility has plenty of free parking
space and everyone is invited to visit, browse and shop beginning
July 8.

All of the smaller shops will
ature interesting and unusual

Other stores and shops include
i Allied Radio Shack, Anastasia,
ookland, Boutique Four, Easy
ider, Gazebo, John’s Party
lop, Le Stitcherie, Elegance
:autv Salon, Playmart, Solo-
mon Fabrics, La Feminque Wigs
and Young Years.
“All of these shops have been
carefully coordinated so that the
shoppers of Southwest Houston
will have the wide selection of
merchants and services in the
finest and most up-to-date neigh-
borhood,” commented Ed Wulfe,
Executive Vice-President of
Weingarten Markets RealtyCom-
pany and responsible for develop-
ment of the Braeswood Square
project.
The center itself will display
a chateau-type facia and has been
aesthetically designed, landscap-
ed and lighted to compliment the
fine homes and apartments in the
surrounding area, Mr. Wulfe
said.
Executives of Weingarten Mar-
kets Realty Company will be on
hand for the grand opening and
Radio Station KNUZ will broad-
cast directly from the center and
will give away free records Sat-
urday July 10th from 10 a.m. un-
til 2 p.m.
All the stores in the center will
feature special grand opening
merchandise and will remain
open until 9 p.m. Thursday and
Friday and Saturday to 6 during
the Grand Opening.

large complex which also in-
cludes an apartment development
containing over 2400 luxury units

Company began operations in the
spring of 1948. At the end of its
first year, the company owned
two J. Weingarten supermarket
buildings containing 60,000
square feet on 270,000 square
feet of land.
The company has experienced
continued growth and expansion
over the past 23 years and now
owns and operates 42 shopping
centers in Texas, Louisiana and
Arkansas. The firm has also
diversified its activities to in-
clude apartment projects, and
other type of commercial pro-
perties.

gram for 675,000 square feet of
new shopping center space. This
includes construction on approx-
imately 350,000 square feet of
new buildings and the compley
tion of approximately 325.00&
