THEATRICAL.
The sensational rural comedy drama,
"Juehua Simpkins,” will be produced at
Denison opera house Wednesday, De-
cember 13 The play contains an inter-
esting and Intelligible plot, but It ia not
allowed to Interfere with the tun, which
ia said to be in abundance. During the
run ot the play some startling scenes and
situations sre seen, principal of which
may be said to be the country sew mill,
in the third act, shown In complete oper-
ation cutting up real Umber. The saw
used is the genuine article, same as used
in large country saw mills. Taro rxcel-
lent bands and s fins orchestra accom-
pany this attraction. The bands will pa-
rade at noon, when some good music
may be looked for, one of them dressed
up as countrymen.

the children going home trom school snd

with the wagon a dozen or more fresh

yard—we say fresh because they kail
been rained on.
Where sre they?
It was this gross mismanagement, the
criminal ignorance of how to handle an
Infectious disease displayed by the
rences detailed above, together with the
fact that rumors snd statements of like
mismanagement to other white ernes all
over the city came to us, a* well as
knowledge of the fact that no provision
whatever has been made for the cere to
white people who have the
side their own homes, and
except the attention ot the physician em-
ployed by the cdy, that earned the appeal
to the state health authorities. And U
an appeal in defense at life aad bom<
needs defense, this Is our defense.
We have had the statement from an
impeachable authority that there is np to
this writing no provision made for white
people; that a white women asked to be
taken charge ot by the
sad ires refused absolutely ; that the law
requires that the needed aid be given to
all who havs the disease, whether they
remain In their own home or sre taken to
• pest house or a detention camp.
We appealed for outside aid only attar
•re had lost all hope of relief trom local
aathoritle*. Appeals to city officials re-
sulted ia no betterment except la having
a guard put on ta daylight, which after
all is a questionable bette-ment. In
instances the appeal was answered by •
falsehood, to-wit, as to the time the quar-
antine tag went np at the Jenkins home,
sod the statement that s night guard had
been put there—a man who had had the
disease, who would relieve Mrs. Jenkins
from night duty.
We had the statements of
bare of the local health board: “Our
hands are tied; ire can do nothing.''
"We can only act to aa advisor* capaci-
ty." "From the hour of organization
we have been utterly Ignored.n And ta
this writing there hat never been a
