Those Who Marry Early
Make Better Companions
la the ‘stood old Jays' that we
h&re heard so much about a man
would sow hit wild oats until he
was about 30 or 40. Then after
a few months of quiter conduct,
he would marry some belle of
half his age, who was meek as a
lamb, docile as a house cat and
as pure as the falling snow; or,
he would marry some old maid
of nearer his own age that was,
after the honeymoon, pulclier-
itudinis as a 1909 model Ford
and as charming as a green
persimmon is to the mouth.
In a maraiage like either of
the cases the parties were un
suitable for each other. The
man, gowu old and set in his<
ways, in the first case, bullied
his young wife around to suit
his own good pleasure. The wife
then had to be the abused molley
coddle until she could go home
to pa or ^else by main strength

Gaines County Citizens Get
Richer and Richer Daily
When engaged in conversation
during the early part of the
week the secretary of the local
Chamber of Commerce, A. L
Duff, stated that everyone in
Seminole was getting rich.
Such a word from an honest
lawyer, who is also County At
torney, ought to make anyone
want to live in Gaines County.
There have been some precarious
times here but the same things
have happened where land, taxes
and living expenses are higher.
Gaines County has many ad
vantages not accorded other
sections of the State. The water,
reached at a shallow dept in
abundant quantities, can be used
advantageously for irrigation
purposes. When water is used
the best of orchards laden with
luxurious, delicious fruits and
gardens flourish galore.
The Judge was right. Every
one living in the healthful and
invigorating atmosphere of this
country are than if in other
counties. Our big trouble is that
prospective citisens are turned
away by a look at neighboring
counties without seeing Gaines.
