THE Bl BLE_ by Beth Layton
Few things in life are more pleasant than watching an island sunset. Cloud banks add
an extra touch of natural beauty.
Key Thought: “He is clad in a
robe dipped in blood and the
name by which he is called is
the Word of God".
Remember? And the Word
was made flesh and dwelt
among us and we beheld His
glory as of the only begotten of
the Father. (John 1:14). “For
the life of the flesh is blood, T ve
given it to you upon the altar to
make an atonement for your
soul, for it is blood that maketh
an atonement for the soul. The
Lord redeemeth the soul of his

Him shall be desolate." (Psalm
24:32). "How shall we escape if
we neglect so great salvation
which at this first began to be
spoken by the I/m! and was
confirmed unto us by them that
heart! them". Believers know
their Savior, Jesus Christ, thus
knowing Christ, they know God
the Father for the Holy Spirit
within them has embedded this
truth. God’s pattern for man’s
righteous life is made manifest
by his own creation as; the
Father creator, the Son, Savior,
Holy Spirit - the messenger,
although they are but one
functioning (works), of each
complete the whole plan of God
essential. His sons and daught-
ers (believers) were early in-
structed when Moses charged
the servants of the Lord to love
the lord, your God, and to walk
in all His ways and Keep His
commandments and cleave unto
Him and serve Him with all your
heart, with all your soul. Some
three thousand years later,
Christ was preaching and teach
ing in Galilee, a lawyer ap
preached Christ asking, "Master
which is the great command-
ment in the I-aw?-’’ Jesus
answered, "Thou shalt love the
lord thy God with all thine
heart, with all thine soul and
with all thy mind." This is the
first and great commandment.
Shall we take a moment and
parse Christ’s statement.
The heart (conscience, feeling,
love and compassion), the soul,
(the embodiment of life and
body) with all thine mind
(will power, determination). A
born again believer, his will
power will be guided by the
influence of his heart which the
soul will absorb, honoring God
who owns the soul, can’t we see
this first commandment is a
pattern given to us by the
Father, the Son and the Holy
Spirit. Oh lord, how manifold
are 'I’hy works in wisdom, 'I’hy
hast made them all. 'Phe earth is
full of 'I’hy riches, all things
wen* made by God and without
Him not anything made that was
made. (John 1:3).
