TpHE Eagles enjoyed a successful pre-season sched-
T ule by defeating Baylor, S. M. U., and Okla-
homa Baptist University two games each and split-
ting series with T. C. U. and Simmons University.
The T. I. A. A. season was opened on the home
floor with the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks. The
Eagles won the first game easily but in the second
contest, a bombardment of long shots and a desperate
will to win spelled victory for the Lumberjacks.
The two games with San Marcos were real bat-
tles. It was through a better mastery of the funda-
mentals that Coach Reid's boys managed to finish
both contests with a small lead. Lucky Perryman
played exceptional ball and although playing guard
was high-point man for both games.
The Eagles won three of four games played on a
