I FIRST ANNUAL
The North Texas eleven won an apparently hopeless
game when the Eagles defeated the College of the Pa-
cific in the last nine seconds of play, 14-13, to capture the
first annual Optimist Bowl contest in Houston on Decem-
ber 21. Although leading at the half 7-0, the Eagles were
quickly tied in the third stanza when the Tigers recovered
a North Texas fumble and tallied a few plays later on
a pass. The game was a sluggish affair until the final
quarter. With only two minutes and 50 seconds remain-
Eagles gang a Tiger as he tries an end run.
Wharn! And another Tiger bit the dust.
Here’s what’s next.
