WHY I AY VOTING DEMOCRATIC ON NOVEMBER THIRD
What kind of future do we want for this state and
for this country? We would like to see a nation free of
racism and poverty, a society so open that men, women and
children may achieve to the best of their abilities with-
out barriers or road blocks, I believe the Democratic
Party is the best vehicle for bringing into being this
kind of future we want. History proves this.
The Democratic Party has demonstrated that it cares
about people and the quality of their lives. It can be
trusted to remain true to its heritage. The Republican
Party does not have a background of concern and caring.
Republican Administrations have brought this nation
its highest unemployment, the highest interest rates for
borrowing money, the highest cost of living, and the lowest
value of the dollar. Furthermore, the national climate is
one of repression and fear.
This National Administration is making a calculated
and determined effort to capture Texas for the Republican
Party. I ask that we not strengthen this weak and equiv-
ocating Administration by allowing the Republican Party
to gain strength in Washington or in Austin.
There are always individuals within a party with whom
one cannot agree; but the Democratic Party and the major-
ity of its spokesmen are committed to our goals for the
future of our Country. you can say "NO" to rMr. Nixon and
Mr. Agnew by voting Democratic on November 3.
