TRI DELTS DO IT
The Tri Delts are especially
proud of Patty Whigham, who has
been chosen as one of the two out-
standing freshman girls by Cardi-
nal Key. Congratulations, Patty.
"• In the recent election at L. K.
Hall Barbara Wiedeman was cho-
sen president of WRA. Ann
ftheinhardt will serve as tennis
chairman, and Patty Whigham
will be basketball chairman. We
hope all the girls elected to some
position wil have the cooperation
of al the girls on the campus tor
a better sports’ program.
Laura Barcus, who will marry
Jack McGowan of Austin during
the summer, was honored at a mis-
cellaneous shower at L. K. Room
Friday afternoon by Billie and
Patsy Whitfield, Bettye Eggert,
Patty Whigham, and Ann Gordon.
We wish Laura and Jack much
happiness.
This has been a very good year
for everyone it seems. We wish
everyone a very good vacation,
and we will see you next year!

oree.
The Delta Zeta’s are quite
pleased with Uie t avelling ,,tro-
phy” presented to us by the Tri
Delts at the swim meet Wednes-
day night. Everyone liked the idea
so much it may become a tradi-
tion.
We are very proud of the girls
who placed in the swim meet. Shir-
ley Blackmore placed 2nd in the
underwater race for distance with
110 feet. Nice going, Shirley. Also
Margie Scott placed 4th in the
free style and Marilyn Colegrove
and Louise Blackburn gave us 5th
place in the 50 yd. medley.
New oficers for the Science So-
ciety include; Henry Hamil, presi-
dent; and Ken Brown, Pat Bagan,
Drew Sanders, and Howie Wat-
kins, vice-presidents.

Mr. and Mrs. August J. Noack
of Walburg have announced the
engagement of their daughter,
Margaret Ruth, to William F.
Kalmbach, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Willie Kalmbach of Theon.
Miss Noack is a 1954 graduate
of Georgetown high school and is
presently employed as a clerk typ-
ist by International Life Insurance
Company of Austin.
Mr. Kalmbach served four years
in the United States Navy during
the Korean conflict, and is now
employed as an electrician' by W.
O. Harper Plumbing and Electric
of Austin.
