rules will help me find not what I can
get out of life, but what I can give to
life.
WeTe still getting requests for ad-
dress changes here in West. A few peo-
ple continue to send their Vestnik
contributions to the Supreme Lodge in
Temple. This has been mentioned in
the Vestnik dozens of times. Changes
of address are to be sent to the Su-
preme Lodge in Temple; everything
for publication here to us in West.

Just as the person who expects to
get rich doing fraternal work in local
lodges should get out of it before he is
bitterly dissapp.oin.ted, so should the
person who feels that everything must
go his way — oř else! Life is full of de-
feats, and lodge work is no exception.
If youTe on the winning skle of a
proposition, thaťs fine. If you lose,
don’t assume the attitude that “if it
doesn’t go my way, 111 piek up my
marbles and go home!” This is a child-
ish attitude and befits the behavior of
children, not grown folks. If you do
lose, také the loss graoefully like an
adult should, and then pitch in to help
all you can. What if everyone in the
lodge took that attitude, and then
štuek to it? How far would you: get?
No Man ever gets anywhere unless
he honestly believes that the job he is
doing is worth-while.
He can’t fool himself about this; the
conviction must be deep and fast.
A good many men fail in business
because they never quite grasp the
idea that production and trade are
essential and worth-while activities.
The suspicion lurks in their minds
that the cause of civilization is better
served by composers, writers, actors,
lawyers, doetors and drum majors.
Such dousbt is deadening. Unless the
mind can be cleared and aired, the
owner had better quit his job and ap-
ply his energy elsewhere.
All dishonest men fail eventually be-
cause they can acquire no philosophy
to justify their chicanery. Strong men
move on from success to success be-
oause they square themselves with
their ideals, and preceive a meaning in
their day’s work.
