along with a great feed —- so much
fine food that there was enough
left to feed twice as many peo~
ple. Everyone enjoyed themselves-
and we certainly do háve great
cooks in the Seaton Chorál Club.
It was truly a happy occasion for
all.
Then we had a short business
meeting discussing the Folk Festi-
val for Saturday, June llth. Since
this will not be in print in time, I
will skip the details. We set our
next rehearsal for Monday, June
20th in order to give an oppor-
tunity for a guest from Praha,
Czechoslovakia to attend our re-
hearsal. Mrs. Anna Proskova is
visiting her brother, Tony Natek,
in Taylor and she will be present
and we would like to háve all our
club members present to meet and
greet her. She is a gxacxous lady
who also visited our SPJST Mu-
seum last Saturday and was veky
much interested in our way of
life. Come and meet her and you
will enjoy talking to her. Thaťs
Monday night, June 20th!
We also discussed the possibility
of híring a bus and attending a
polka festival in Lincoln, Nebraska,
the second week in August, which
will run three days and nights and
feature 24 bands. You do not háve
to be a member of the Chorál Club
to také advantage of this excur-
sion, so come out and visit us and
leťs all go to Lincoln for a great
and enjoyable vacation.
There being no further business,
the meeting ended and everyone
went home for a good nighťs sleep.
Singingly yours,
Otto Hanuš

NEWS FROM LODGE
NO. 88, HOUST0N
After a horrible week I feel a
little better and I wish to thank
everyone for the get-well cards and
telephone calls; the Birthday Club
for sending me a dinner by Sis-
ter Mary Johnson, and then Sister
Helen Valcik went out of her way
and cooked a pot full of delicious
beef šoup. How I developed bron-
chitis I don’t know, but I had a
pretty bad čase of it.
Splash Day is over and the day
for it was just ideál and I had to
miss it all.
The Hlahol Dramatic Club usu-
ally holds a meeting after each
performance to review the play;
if there is anything that could be
improved it is brought out, but
this time the directors were so
pleased with the repeat perform-
ance of “The Dutch Detective,” that
they had nothing but praise for
the performers. The play was giv-
en Friday, May 20th. The attend-
ance was not overwhelming, but
it was good and the main thing is
that the audience enjoyed it and
let it be known by their repeated
applause. Our meeting was held
May 24th, with 36 members pres-
ent to voice their comments. After
the meeting adjourned, we all en-
joyed the delicious food and re-
freshments and socialized.
