DISTRICT VII FALL MEETING
Dear Members and Friends:
I hope that all members of Dist
rict VII are planning to 'attend our
district meeting on Sunday, Nov-
ember 4th, with Lodge 117, Robs-
town being host lodge, The meet-
ing will be held at the Robstown
Community Halí; hopefully we
háve a large turnout because Lodge
117, will be celebrating its fiOth
anniversary.
In behalf of all district officers,
I extend a cordial invitation to all
Supreme Lodge officers, editor and
their families and all members who
would iike to attend; there will be
a yery interesting program present
ed by the youth of the district.

Dear Members:
Just- a reminder that the fall me-
eting will be held at Robstown on
Sunday, November 4th; also, at
this meeting, there will be a spe-
ciál occasíon to fill the afternoon
program.
Sister Agnes Kučera, age 96, oiit
Uved her certificate; she is a mem-
ber of Lodge No. 56. Corpus Chris-
ti. During this opportunity, Lod,ge
56, will pay homage and will do-
nate a corsage and birthday cake
to her. SL President Brother Nick
Morris will be at this meeting for
the presentation honoring Bister
Kučera, with the check for the
full face value of $1,000.
Sister Agnes Kučera was born
November 15, 1877 at Bordovice,
County Mistek, Moravia, now Czech
oslovakia; she arrived at Gaives-
ton in 1898 with her parents John
and Johana Sýkora who made
their home at Fayetteville, Texas.
Sister Kučera had seven brothers
■and three sisters; presently she is
the only one living. In 1906 she
married Karel Kučera who was
born in Texas; he passed away in
1947. Survivors are four sons: Wil-
liam, Karel, Edward and Albin;
two daughters, Mrs. Henrietta Pa-
velka, Mrs. Janice M. Dlabaja; 28
grandchildren: and 25 great-grand
children. Sister Kučera joined SPJ
ST on May 14, 1916 at the age of
39, and she later transferred to
Lodge 56. Our lodge is wishing her
good health so she can celebrate
her 100th birthday.

UNCORRECTED MINUTES OF
DISTRICT VII SPRING MEETING
District VII spring meeting was
held on April 29, 1973 hosted by
Lodge No. 107, Rozkvět Zapadu,
Floresville,
The meeting was called to order
by Brother Bob Bayer at 11:45 a.m.
Brother Bayer welcomed all pre-
sent and wished all a joyous day.
District president Brother Frank
C. Sacky then was asked to con-
tinue with the meeting. Scott Eliff,
flag bearer, presented the colors
and led the entire membership in
reciting the pledge of allegiance.
The members stood in silent trib-
ute to departed members. Roli call
of district officers revealed that
all were present. The minutes of
the last meeting were read and ap-
proved.
District Treasurer Brother Alvin
Hrna presented this report: Youth
Fund — $213.52; General Fund —
$249.19.
District Sales Represent-atíve Sis-
ter Tillie Valchar report.ed that she
enjoys working as a district sales
representative and gave the follow-
ing report: $77,900 of insurance
sold to 41 members, and that the
district is way below the quota for
the vear; the district has a $525,000
quota to meet. Top salesman in
1972 was Brother Frank C. Sackv
(79) for 135 consecutive months,
Sister Helen Pavelka (117; for 83
consecutive months. For the year
1972, District VII met its quota,
with 189 members and $425,000 of
insurance sold.
Rest Home Director Brother Fu-
gene Hrnc-ir extended greetings
from Lodge No. 117. Robstown. He
stated that the Supreme Lodge is
doine; a good job and that the res*
homes are in good financial con-
dition. Donations to rest homes are
alwavs appreciated.
District Youth Counselor Maxine
Pavliska reported that the youth
year begins on July Ist; she ex~
plained to the membership that
the youth elubs of the district háve
their booths set up as a money-
making project, sc do support
them. The coming events are camp
at Christine: District YAD in Rob?
town on July 29 and State YAD.
