Efficient Dishwashing
Cut down on time consumed it
dishwashing by keeping a small pail
or other container filled with cool
sudsy water standing on the drain-
board or work table. As mixing
spoons, egg beaters, knives and oth-
er utensils are soiled, drop them
in the container to soak. There will
be no need for hard rubbing and
scouring later when they are washed
with the rest of the dishes This
plan also saves soap

“WHEN FATHER PRAYED”
(By H. C. Geddle)
When father prayed
Beside the heartatone of our hum-
ble cot. *twas there
My Infant ears first heard the
awesome voice of prayer
.As father asked the Lord to keep
us safe from harm
Throughout night’s darkness,
Meath His sheltering arm.
With child-like faith I knew I
would be kept.
Safe and secure while through the
the night I slept;
And through the darkness came.
the wolf pack howled,
The panther howled, the shatter-
ing thunder rolled.
The storm winds shrieked their
challenge o’er my head,
I laid me down and slept, upon
my trundle bed.
For I was nqt afraid
When father prayed,
With humble mien. In simple
phrases and neat
He laid his pleading at the Sav-
iors feet,
And begged that we might have
our dally bread.
Our slits forgiven and be spirit
led.
Our burden's lifted and our strength
renewed
To meet the many trials that en-
sued.
And as he prayed oft did I watch
his tear-wet face.
Lifted, all glory lighted, to the
throne of grace.
And read his answer there.

Draklng caps at the Wildcat, i Carbon
When father prayed,
He craved that Ood would
our family home
bring
To meet, a band unbroken 'round
the Father’s throne.
Long years have passed since I
last heard that plea
But It Is not forgotten, and It
will not be;
For in the court of heaven His
cause will pend
Until the lives on earth of all of
us shall end
And heaven’s high Chancellor
makes His final coll.
The others subject to this are all
gone—all.
I stand alone this side the lethal
tide
Waiting my summons to the other
side.
And doubt not that the judgment
of His sovereign will
With mercy will be tempered; and
I still
i Am unafraid.

Mud Pills
As every gardener knows, much
of the seed planted never germi-
nates because of birds and ani-
mals. A California scientist has
overcome this by coating seed with |
mud and a small quantity of fer- i
tllizer. These mud pills stick to the
ground unmolested. The federal gov-
ernment is investigating the value
for reseeding vast range lands in
the west.
Drying Rubber
Quick trick to speed the drying of
rubberized foundations which do not
open flat: After rolling in a bath
towel, place it on another dry towel
and stuff with crumpled tissue. This
raises the top half so (hat air can
circulate through it.
