Finance Committee

Article 25(a) of the SPJST By-
Laws States that the Finance
Committee shall meet annually, to
review all compensation and financial
benefits of the Supreme Lodge and
editor, review the overall financial
posture and report their findings to the
Supreme Lodge.
The Finance Committee will meet
at the Home Office of the SPJST,
Temple, Texas on Saturday, January
17, 2004 at 8:30 a.m.
The Committee will meet with the
Board of Directors and will begin
reviewing recommendations and
expenses for the Convention to be
held in June.
SPJST members wishing to make
recommendations to the Finance
Committee must send the recommen-
dations in writing to Rita J. Vaněk,
Finance Committee Secretary before
January 14, 2004.

"Operation Valentine" Drive Continues
The SPJST Youth Department received the first Operation Valentine
donations in November from youth clubs representing Lodge 4,
Hallettsville and Lodge 84, Dallas. The Youth Department is collect-
ing items to send to U.S. soldiers around Valentine’s Day. Pictured
above, from left, are Patsy and Helen Zabranský of Lodge 4,
Hallettsville, State Youth Director Melanie Zavodny and Bessie Petr
and Lynda Novák of Lodge 84, Dallas. To dáte, approximately 15
boxes of items háve been collected. Members wishing to partici-
pate are asked to please send their donations to the Home Office.

Lodge 24, Cyclone
posts results of
Autumn Car Show
SPJST Lodge 24, Cyclone hosted
its premier Autumn Car Show on
Saturday, November 1, 2003 at Flag
Halí in Cyclone, Texas. The car show
was held in conjunction with the
Countywide Sále Day inside Flag
Halí. The car show featured 82 cars
with participants from many cities Lodge 24, Cyclone Youth Club
throughout Texas. The car show member J.C. Garda, 11, checks
raised $750 for Santa Pal. Qut one of the cars on display.
Thanks to all of the participants and --
sponsors for making the car show a big Martha Zavodny, Barbara Macek, and
success. Speciál thanks to Supreme janet Ashcraft for assisting with the
Lodge Vice President Gene McBride show. Congratulations to this year’s
