Notes

Captain Morey participated in the Punitive Expedition and engaged in the Battle of Carrizal, Mexico on June 21, 1916. The Battle of Carrizal was the United States' worse engagement with Mexican forces during the Punitive Expedition as Troop K (Capt. Morey's unit) and Troop C of the 10th Cavalry suffered heavy losses. 23 American soldiers were taken prisoner by Mexican forces and were sent to the Chihuahua City prison. Captain Morey himself was wounded during the Battle of Carrizal.
