is based on the New England Township government where the
citizens seek out the best qualified people in the community as
candidates, thus the motto, “Let the Office seek the Candidate.”
The WUP Party was organized 43 years ago, and except for one
two-year period, the candidates recommended by this civic group
have been elected regularly.
Sounding as they were determined to win another election, the
WUP Party proposed new officers of Beth Ann Bryan, Chairman,
Sonny Ahrens, Vice Chairman, Phil Lewis, Treasurer, and Jean
Polichino, Secretary. These new officers will assume
responsibilities 60 days after the elections, already preparing for
the 1991 elections.
