Stallman joins Texas Wesleyan
By Dave Nichols
Staff Writer
On Wednesday, Sept.
2, the Texas Wesleyan girls' vol-
leyball team opened its season
under the direction of newly ac-
quired coach Rosemarie
Stallman. Unfortunately, how-
ever, the Lady Rams were edged
by Texas Women’s University
15-13,15-9,15-13.
Stallman replaces
Becky Hughes as volleyball
coach. Hughes’coaching record
at Wesleyan was one of inconsis-
tency. Under Hughes’ leader-
ship, the Lady Rams ranked third
in volleyball nationally in 1987,
fourth in 1986 and second in 1982
in the N.A.I.A. However, in the
last five years Wesleyan volley-
ball has not placed nearly as well.
With an 18 year coach-
ing career. Stallman represents a
volleyball veteran who brings a
great deal of experience and
knowledge to the Texas Wes-
leyan program.
Since moving to Texas
in 1990, Stallman has been a
Metroplex Junior Olympic Vol-
leyball Coach in Arlington. Prc-
viouscoachinghighlights include
