Death of Little Boy.
Vernon, the eight-year oid son of
i Mr. and Mrs. J. F. McCracken, died
at the family home near Garner Thurs-
I day morning at 9 o’clock, after a short
illness with croup. The funeral was
conducted by Rev. T. Bennett Friday
afternoon at 3 o’clock, interment tak-
ihg place in Holder’s Chapel grave-
yard.

A par^y of Weatherford Odd Fel-
lows journeyed to Millsap Thursday
night wheye they put on the initiatory
degree for the lodge at that place. At
the close of the meeting refreshments
were served by the Millsap Odd Fel-

The wife of Henry Campbell, col-
ored, died at 7 o’clock Thursday
evening and was buried Friday after-
noon. The Campbells are old time

Pythian Sisters Social Function.
The entertainment gtffen by the Py-
thian Sisters at the Knights of Py-
this castle hall Thursday night was a
decided success. The library and
parlors were filled with spectators and
when the old fashioned dancing began
in the main hall every seat was occu-
pied by those participating and their
friends. As the violins and guitar
started the lively airs, couples began
forming on the floor, keeping step to
the music. Many elderly couples were
seen among the dancers and they
seemed to enjoy tripping the light fan-
tastic toe as “readily as when they
were young. The dancing continued
until quite late (for old people). It
was tnfly ,an enjoyable occasion and
a most delightful social affair. The
entertainment was given by the Py-
thian Sisters tot the benefit of their
