Treasure hunt
Representatives of the
Texas State Aquarium in
Corpus Christi, above,
made a trip to Port Aran-
sas Monday, June 10, to
collect specimens for an
exhibit called "Life at the
Top". Aquarist Debra
Garza, left, sought the
assistance of Joe Blank-
enship, center, to seine
along the Corpus Christi
Ship Channel. Here, with
the help of curatorial
volunteer Keven Zeitler,
the trio goes through the
sargassum weed where
they found a sargassum
fish, in the photo at left,
among the weed, as well
as a trove of other sea
creatures.
Blood Bank due
here on Tuesday
The Community Blood Bank will
be at the Family Center IGA parking
lot Tuesday, June 18.
Blood Bank director Lillian Gra-
ham said donations will be accepted
from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and “are greatly
needed.”
Civic groups and individuals are
urged to make a special effort to make
donations as the busy summer vaca-
tion season often depletes supplies of
blood at the bank.
Whoops
Brian Creighton’s grade point av-
erage for the spring semester was 4.0
at the University of Texas where he
has been named to the Dean’s List.
The GPA reported last week was his
overall average.

spelled incorrectly in a caption under
a photograph published last week.
