PLENTY BUSINESS
FOR ALL TRUCKERS
SAY BURGER BROS.
All Truckers Welcome
The Burger Brothers have been running
a cattle truck line for some time, but in con-
nection icith the sale barn they have said all
truckers are welcome, and they don't care who
the cattle man gets to bring in his stock. There
is absolutely no connection beticeen their
trucking business and their sale barn enter-
prise.

Competition On Bids
Brings Higher Prices,
Says Local Auction Man
Competitive bidding by a number of
buyers usually brings the best return to the
farmer, according to an official at the Hondo
Livestock Auction Company. He said that at
the stockyards, cattle are penned up, and one
buyer will look at them and make his offer.
Then if another buyer wants to see them, he
comes around and makes his bid. Sometimes
after cattle are sold, another buyer says **I'd
have given you more money . . . something
that is not likely to happen in a fast moving
auction where every buyer sees the same
animal at the same time.
HAS RARE DISEASE—Par-
ents of 3-year-old Ronald Ad-
ams, of Galesburg, 111., live in
constant dread that the youngster
will be cut or bruised while
playing. Ronnie Is the victim of
hemophilia, a rare disease char-
acterized by excessive bleeding
from minor injuries. During the
last 18 months he has had 12
transfusions to replace blood lost
through skinned knees and el-
bows. No cure is yet known for
the ailment
Pointing out that August of
1948 was the most dangerous of
the year for motorists, the Texas
Department of Public Safety ap-
pealed today to all drivers to
exercise extreme caution in their
driving thjs month. During August
of 1.148, 212 person* lost their
lives in Texas traffic accident sur-
passing the month of December
for the first time.
