Tacking on some more history...
History doesn’t stop, and museums can’t stop collecting either. The Panhandle-Plains Historical
Museum will host an exhibition, “Recent Acquisitions,”from April 6 through September 13. The
museum continues to build its significant collection through gifts and purchases. Recent addi-
tions include ethnology, western heritage items, firearms, textiles, and, sports-related artifacts.
Also added have been political materials and archival collections. One such recent acquisition
is a Reid-Errington Western stock saddle (shown above), custom made for the Rocking Chair
Ranch. Pictured with the saddle are (left to right) PPHM Museum Director Cliff Vanderpool,
George Arrington of Canadian, and Bill Arrington ofPampa.
