“90”
On February 28, 1990, St. Philip’s
College will host its annual ‘ ‘ Health &
Fitness Fair. ” The Fair will take place
in Sutton Learning Center’s Old
Cafeteria from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
Several community health organiza-
tions, as well as our own S.P.C.
departments, will be represented giv-
ing demonstrations, distributing
literature, testing, offering counsel-
ing and exhibiting displays. St.
Philip’s College Health & Fitness
Fair ’90 is free and open to all
students, faculty, staff, personnel
and guests. So, treat yourself to this
opportunity to learn and obtain infor-
mation regarding good health and
good health habits. Welcome the 90’s
decade with the best that YOU can
be!
At the Texas Technical Society Conven-
tion, three of our SPC students assisted in
the programs that were held. Richard
Tucker, Debra Casillas, and Philip Covar-
rubia are VICA members.
Faculty members from campus attended the Texas Technical Society Conference on November

Vets Update
The Coordinator of Veterans Af-
fairs, A1 Carmona, has been invited
to appear before a National Ad-
visory Committee on Readjustment
Counseling Service — Vet Center for
the Department of Veterans Affairs
on February 9, 1990.
The Advisory Committee is con-
ducting hearings in various cities on
issues affecting veterans. Communi-
ty Representatives are being invited
to present issues, concerns, pro-
blems and complaints of veterans in
the community. All issues are being
considered but concentration will be
on the areas of:
—Mental Health
—Educational Benefits
—Substance Abuse
—Vietnam Era Veterans
—Employment
—Minority Veterans
Anyone wishing to raise concerns,
discuss these issues, present com-
plaints or problems in these areas is
requested to contact Mr. Carmona
at the St. Philip’s College Office of
Veterans Affairs, SLC 116 or call
531-3539 to set up an appointment.
