Obituaries
O. W. HARKLEROAD
COTTON CENTER - Services for O. W. Harklcroad. 83, of Cotton
Center, were held at 2;00p.m Saturday in the Untied Methodist Church with
the Rev. Lyndall Fletcher, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Center
Plains Cemetery under direction of Freeman Funeral Home of Hale Center.
Mr. Hark 1croad died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 1991, in
Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a brief illness.
He was bom in Wild Cherry, Arkansas. He was married to Bcalah Mac
White on June 13,1936, in Wellington. They moved to FieIdton in 1937 and
to Couon Center in 1938. He was a retired fanner and a member of the Cotton
1 Center United Methodist Church. He had served as a Boy Scout troop leader
and also was a former member of the Cotton Center Board of Equalization
for the school district.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, E. W. HarkJcroad of Mars, Pennsyl-
vania and Oran Harklcroad of Barnhart; one daughter, Rebecca Kidd of
Lubbock; one sister, Ima Beyers of Little Rock, Arkansas; eight grandchil-
dren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bob Thomas, Tommy Joines, Zeke Harklcroad, Tom
Sullivan, Marcus MeAllistcr and Greg McAllister.
The family suggested memorials be made to a favorite charily.
FRANKLIN MORRIS
1946*1991
Graveside services for Franklin "Elzie" Moms, 24,of Barnhart, were held
at 3:00 p.m. Monday in Barnhart Cemetery under direction of Johnson's
Funeral Home of San Angelo.
Mr. Morris died Thursday. February 7, 1991, in Reagan Memorial
Hospital in Big Lake.
He was bom July 19,1966, in Athens.
Survivors include his wife. Linda Morris of Barnhart; two sons, Michael
Shaun "Elzie' Morris and Jeffrey Scott Morris, both of Barnhart; his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. C. E. "Boogie" Morris of Barnhart and Mr. and Mrs. John W.
Robertson of San Antonio; one brother, William Roy Morris of Barnhart; and
one sister, Donna Bcacham of Corpus Chrisli.
CLAIR E. EASTER
1918-1991
Services for Clair Edward Easter, 72, of Qucmado, were held at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 9, in the Curry-Parks Funeral Home in Stroud, Okla-
homa. with the Rev. Litton Logan officiating. Burial followed in the Stroud
Cemetery under direction of Curry-Parks Funeral Home.
Mr. Eastter died Tuesday, February 5, 1991, at his home in Qucmado.
He waSTrim May 5. 1918, in Muse, Oklahoma, to William Jackson and
Ina AliigaHSmilh Easter.
HC'.was formerly a longtime resident of Santa Rita and Big Lake. He
retired from Conoco Oil Company after 41 years of service with the
company. He moved to Qucmado from Big Lake several years ago. He was
affectionately called "Shorty" by friends. He was a member of the First
» Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Kay Johnson of Fort Worth and
Sandra Gail Runnels of Pecan Gap, Texas; one brother, Leo Easter of Hobbs,
N.M.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

wedding anniversary Sunday after-
noon w hen they were honored with
a reception at the Mcrtzon Commu-
nity Center. A large crowd of
friends wished them well and en-
joyed the occasion.

1931. in Mcrtzon. They have one

sas, will be singing and ministering
in these Sunday services.

available to interested persons. The
past 25 years, has taken them into
many states and churches.
The Pastor, Rev. Orville Grace,

the community, to hear and enjoy
their ministry.

son, Bumey R. Shelton of Mcrtzon,
who hosted the reception.
Mr. and Mrs. Shelton lived in
Fort Worth during World War II
where they were both employed by
Consolidated Aircraft. They moved
back to Mcrtzon in 1944 and built a
service station in 1949. They own
Shelton Oil and Gas Co., Inc., and
Shot's Convenience Stores. One of
their stares is located in Big Lake.
They arc members of the First
Christian Church, and Mr. Shelton
is a member of Mcrtzon Masonic
Lodge No. 699, A.F.& A.M. He was
mayor of Mcrtzon for eight years
and served on the Mcrtzon school
board for six years.
